Lucy didn't know how many times she had told her parents that if something were to happen to her at Hogwarts, they would be the first to be notified by Dumbledore, but regardless they still sent owls asking her repeatedly how everything was going and if she was okay. Lucy didn't like writing to her parents as she didn't see the point and considered it an utter waste of time. It wasn't like she hated her parents, but nothing new ever happened at Hogwarts, especially things worth mentioning. Besides, it meant she had to go to the owlery where it was frightfully cold in February and she wasn't looking forward to the journey. She half-assed bundled up and carried a short succinct letter to her parents outlining that yes, she was okay and no, nothing had happened recently. She strode through the corridors of Hogwarts. Everyone was discussing the damned Ball that she hadn't opted to attend, and it was driving her mad. It couldn't have been that exciting. She didn't think she would have gotten as much pleasure from the Ball as she did meddling around with potions on her own. Lucy had learned quite a bit, and even came up with some creations of her own.Lucy headed up to the owlery with a blustery wind swirling around her red hair. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to see past the snow and climbed the icy stairs with one hand always on the railing. She attached the letter to the first owl she saw and looked around at the filth left by the birds as she avoided stepping in it herself."Don't they have house-elves for this?" she wondered with a grimace before Lucy promptly turned around to leave - only to run right into someone who was entering.
