Sitting upright with a gasp, Integra blinked trying to get the sleep out of her eyes. She felt like she was always tired lately. Not that she normally slept very well to begin with. Though she rarely showed it, Integra was a very nervous person. She had fears and apprehensions just like everyone else. Difference was, she was much better at masking those fears and utilizing them to scare others. The nightmare that woke her up, however, was no one's but her own. Swallowing, the girl slowly climbed out of bed and pulled a warm, over-sized sweatshirt around her shoulders. Luckily the other girls were still asleep. Integra could slip away unnoticed.
Grabbing her wand and her cigarettes, Integra silently made her way into the common room. Her book and glasses lay discarded on the table. After retrieving them, she slipped her slightly too big glasses onto her nose and headed out the door. Normally she'd go crawl into Rabastan's bed. Tonight was different. How could she stand laying next to him when she felt so ashamed? Her melt down on Sebastian weighed heavy on her mind. She hesitated. Why did she hesitate? It was an intended duel! She was supposed to hex him. Integra had all but killed Lyra Lestrange a few months ago. But then she'd been fueled by rage and revenge. Something in her subconscious kept her from senselessly attacking with no purpose. It was the very thing her father expected from her. Mindless hex waving for no reason.
It hadn't been a problem in the past. She'd been able to curse anyone who got in her way with ease and finesse. She wasn't sure what had changed but now she was left feeling exposed and uncertain. As she marched her way up through the dungeons and into the corridors, headed for the astronomy tower, she began to choke back her tears and shook her head clearing them away. She could not lose her cool. Not now. Not ever. She was Integra Echoes. Feared and respected. If she lost her edge she would be nothing. No, she was fine. This was just a hiccup. She was fine. There was nothing wrong with her.
