Dex is a pragmatic, sensible individual, having much matured from the awkward, garrulous teenager he once was. Dex walks in a stately manner, much like a Muggle fashion model, with his chin held high and a fashionable blazer ever so casually tossed over his shoulder. He is the epitome of perfection, his advice always calm and wise and his classes just interactive enough so as to not be sleep-inducing. Dex is a master at pretending, but he forgets that, at least inwardly, old habits are the hardest to break.

Dex has, in actuality, not grown up from his socially incompetent adolescent years. He still thinks of himself as that boy jacking off in the middle of the night to worn editions of Playboy and waking up to dirty, semen-encrusted pants. Even as an adult, Dex is extremely insecure about his own self-worth and he blames nobody but himself for it. Dex has always been an introvert, preferring to spend hours locking himself up in his dormitory and translating runes than actually interacting with people. When he was a teenager, Dex offered long, rambling explanations for menial things such as, "Dex, have you remembered to tell the house elves to clean your robes?" or, "Dex, have you been gawking at the Muggles down the street again?". As he got older, however, Dex taught himself how to be more charming and courteous, although it definitely did not come naturally.

As an adult, Dex is very capable at making excellent first impressions; the problem is with making those good impressions last. If he does not constantly correct himself, Dex slips back into "awkward teen" mode. Though he tries to feign confidence, Dex is graceless around women and blushes at the thought of bedding anyone below the age of forty. Dex is a bit of a hopeless romantic, secretly hoping to find true love in the form of an attractive female (or male). Dex is, at heart, that dorky pubescent boy trying to make his way in the world. He just knows how to make believe otherwise.

Dex's hair is onyx black and immaculately combed away from his face. Despite Dex's lack of effort in styling products, his hair still manages to look like he had spent hours on it.

In stark contrast to his dark hair, Dex's eyes are an ice blue, piercing color.

Dex has aristocratic, pureblood good looks. With a prominent jawline and masculine features, he is conventionally sexah attractive.

Dex is tall, standing at about 6'4", and he has a toned, muscular figure, complete with a six pack and strong biceps. Due to being flabby as a teen, Dex started working out frantically and is still under the impression that he is overweight.

He dresses professionally, typically in Muggle clothing such as tailored blazers, dress shirts, and sleek black pants. Dex is never seen wearing anything that wasn't ironed or cleaned previously.

Dex is technically related to every pureblood, though nobody is close enough to matter.

The Fawley family is a distinguished, pureblood one, even appearing in the notorious "Pure-Blood Directory" written in the 1930's. Unlike most pureblood families, the Fawleys felt no need to raise their son as a prejudiced bigot. Dex was raised with love from his mother and straight-laced respect from his father. He was a naturally curious child, intelligent but a bit weird in social situations. Dex would clutch his mother's leg and not let go whenever they went outside the house. Thankfully, he outgrew that peculiar habit by the age of eleven, when he was accepted into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Dex was a Ravenclaw through and through, which meant he knew absolutely nothing socially but excelled in all academic subjects, particularly Ancient Runes. He was skilled in manipulating the texts and translating them to modern day language, but he was not so skilled in modern day language. As a teenager, Dex was chubby and unattractive, which caused him to develop self-esteem issues that lasted to adulthood.

When Dex graduated from Hogwarts, he set to change himself for the better. He started to exercise and better himself by becoming more confident. While it worked on the outside, Dex still believed himself to be that introverted teenager. Only until he received a position at Hogwarts did Dex truly come out of his shell and become a charming individual, but he was faking it. Anything to get by, right?
