Zeke smiled softly as Hadley began to explain why she would fare well against him in a fight; “You know that I’m a chaser right?” Zeke asked quizzically as he reached into his bag and once again produced his quaffle, “I’m a very good chaser, if I do say so myself. Do you know what it takes to be a good chaser, Hadley?” Zeke began to roll the quaffle in his hand, letting it spin on the tip of his finger for a moment and then drop back into his hand. “Reflexes. You have to have superior reflexes, and the ability to think faster than people can move. Otherwise, the bludgers would crack open your skull.” Zeke flicked the quaffle over to his other hand, letting it spin for a second before flicking it back, “So I would say, that no matter how light you are on your feet, you’re odds of getting behind me… or being able to do anything before I turn around, are slim to none.” Zeke chuckled slightly, flicking the quaffle towards Hadley with a devilish grin. “Perhaps I could. But could we do it another night? I’m mentally worn out right now, and teaching hexes is the absolute last thing I want to be working on right now.” He hoped that his reply didn’t sound too cold, or off putting; but Zeke was emotionally and mentally drained from his training sessions with Morgana and then his prepping on top of that; he barely even wanted to use magic right now.
Zeke tilted his head mirroring Hadley’s movements, “Hadley, if I was threatening you. You would know it.” He said with an eerily calm demeanor. His statement had simply been that; a statement. He was letting her know that not only was he not afraid, but that she wasn’t the only thing that lurked in the night. Hopefully the subtle comment would be enough for her to understand that she needs to back off and let Zeke work in private; but he had the feeling that Hadley was especially skilled when it came to subtlety.
Zeke gave a quick huff as she tried to shoot back at him, “Touche. Perhaps you are hiding something Hadley, something you don’t want the rest of the world to know?” Zeke quirked a brow at her, “We all have secrets, Hadley. Sometimes it’s best that our secrets remain secrets… But sometimes when we stick our noses in things that they don’t belong, our secrets get discovered.” Zeke stared at Hadley very seriously, he could tell that there was something in her past that she didn’t want people to know about, and Zeke would have no issue discovering it and using it against her, if that’s what it would take to stop her from getting involved in this situation with Cygnus.
Zeke’s eyes instantly found the star that Hadley was talking about, it was brighter and more beautiful than any of the other stars; it felt as if it was twinkling at him, and him alone. The thought of Bellatrix being a star and always being with him gave Zeke comfort inside; he knew that no matter where he was that he’d be able to find Bellatrix, at least in star-form anyway. Zeke realized that he’d been staring at the singular star for quite some time now, and was completely ignoring Hadley, he turned to her and gave her an apologetic smile, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to ignore you… I just… I… Well, I guess I just got caught up look at the stars.” He gave her a soft smile, hoping that she would understand; after all, she admitted to being an avid star-gazer. “I’ll take that as, you don’t fly actively? Correct?” He asked almost rhetorically as he began to pull his broom back out. Zeke wanted to get closer to the stars, because even though they were away from the castle, there was still a little bit of light pollution; Plus, Zeke wanted to see them up close. He looked down at Hadley and offered her his hand up, “Come on, I want to get a closer look.” He asked her excitedly with a large child-like grin on his face.
