[/b] she breathed as she stepped out of the shadows. Her head was cocked slightly to the side, as if she was seeing something for the first time and was not sure how to react to it. It had been a long while since she had approached a man without asking for a fight. Right now she just wanted to talk; she wanted to know what made him so different than everyone else...and she wanted to know what he was doing protecting Bellatrix Black, ”You’re up late, this evening.”[/b] Her voice was not without edge, in fact, there was always something strange about the way that she spoke, considering she didn’t do it very often willingly.
Looking up into the night sky, there was a glimmer in the North Star and to the right the belt of Orion shone brightly against the dark nighttime sky. They were like sprinkles of glitter all lined up in a row for her to admire. Every celestial body that she had ever dreamed up was making an appearance tonight. She was lying on her back, her fingers reaching up to try and pick the tiniest stars from the sky and pull them into her thoughts for safe-keeping. They were precious in her eyes - things of beauty that were far too often misunderstood. Stars lived millions of miles away - much like the way that she felt sometimes. She was separated from her peers by a monumental distress in her life and often had a horrible time connecting...that was the reason that she spent most of her hours alone. Everyone had their parts in life, and hers was not to make friends with everyone that she came into contact with...it just wasn’t in her blood to do so.
Unspoken Protector. That was what she called herself in her head. In Hadley’s eyes, she was an unsung hero - the victim of a crime so vicious and yet she had seeming turned her life around to do something for the better. Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment, exhausted by how late that she had stayed up the past couple of nights. She adored the stars - but she didn’t have occasion to sleep in very often, which meant that her days could drag on and on for hours at a time.
It was then that she heard it; the collision of an object with something metal. Her eyes flew open and she was on her feet before her body even completely registered what had just happened. The sound was coming from the Quidditch pitch. Struck with uncommon curiosity, Hadley grabbed her satchel and began walking in that direction, rubbing her bare shoulders with her fingertips as she did. She never dressed for the weather - instead wore whatever floated her boat - and tonight, that was a pair of layered tanks that hung loosely against her frame.
She slipped onto the pitch, but stayed near the edges of the grassy area, absorbing what she saw. Someone was flying about the pitch, throwing the quaffle into the hoops and then going around back to retrieve them. Haddie would never understand the appeal of Quidditch; it seemed like too much of the same thing over and over again to her. The figure came a bit closer and she was able to pick up some details - like the tell-tale Emerald and Silver that adorned his robes. Meaning that it was one of the few competent male chasers on the Quidditch Team. Seeing as it didn’t strike her as one of the Lestrange Brother’s cups of tea to be out so late, she could only ascertain that it was Zeke Maxwell, the center chaser for the team. Her fingertips curled around the strap of her bag, her eyes suddenly very interested in what she had come across. She had always been interested in the Maxwell boy; he seemed...different to her. As if there was some untapped potential beneath that skin of his...She could only imagine what he could do if it was all unlocked.
Far too long she had watched from a distance; far too long she had been the seen and unheard when it came to the situation. And far too long would end tonight. There was something about him that she had to know - she needed to understand why she was so drawn to him despite her aversion to all other men in the universe. ”Hello Zeke Maxwell,”
