The afternoon's classes were taking forever. The rain from yesterday had subsided and though the ground was a bit damp, it was a beautiful day for practice. The air was crisp and cold, but dry. Grayson had been up early and down on the pitch before breakfast. Quidditch was his life. He loved it more than anything. So of course, everything he did revolved around the sport. He'd brought down the copy of Beaters Bi-weekly and propped it open to read as he maintained his broom stick before returning to the castle for classes. The day however had dragged on so long now that Grayson was itching to get out of there.
Unfortunately, he was stuck, leaning back in his chair, in the middle of an ancient runes class. As he looked out the window, he desperately begged the sky to keep the rain back for just a little longer. There was no point in paying attention to the lesson, he'd already missed half of it doodling out plays on the margin of his book. So when the thought that he might need to actually learn something today came to him, he waved it off. This class was a breeze for him anyhow. Or so he thought. In reality he was about a week behind and had a paper due tomorrow, but he'd manage it at some point this evening. Practice was more important to him at that particular moment.
When the bell finally tolled, the boy leaped from his chair and rushed passed the other students, almost knocking one girl into a suit of armor. Realizing his misbehavior immediately, Grayson turned around and took the blond Hufflepuff girl's hands in his. "Bloody hell, Magnolia. I didn't even see you there. I'm so terribly sorry. Are you alright?" With her assurance, Grayson tucked her into a hug and kissed the top of the girl's head. "Listen. I really am sorry. I've just got so much stress on me right now about our next match. Let me make it up to you. Tea? This Saturday. Just you and me." With another squeeze he left her giggling to her friends by the classroom, as he sprinted down the corridor.
It would give him a fit if he had to listen to Adeline scold him for being late. Again. That girl was bloody scary. So he was glad to see that she hadn't come down yet, as he sat under cover in their locker, preparing their equipment. He'd changed quickly and was just lacing up his boots when he saw her swoop in. "I'm really excited for today. I've been thinking about our practice all afternoon. I really think you're going to enjoy it." His excitement was made ever more obvious by the boyish glee filled grin plastered across his slightly scruffy face.
