[/b] She realized that she was probably drawing more attention to them than she would have liked, but that was probably exactly what Zeke wanted. He wanted to make sure that the entire table thought that they were together tonight. He stopped and she narrowed her eyes at him. Yet again, she leaned forward and hissed into his ear, ”I don’t care if she’s gone rightfully insane and tried to steal your knickers while you sleep, Maxwell. It’s none of my business but I swear to Merlin, if you touch my neck again, I will personally burn off your balls with an incendio charm.”[/b]
Atlanta was beginning to feel a bit impatient with the whispering back and forth and was tempted in that moment to loudly exclaim to all the other Nighthouse Patrons that Zeke Maxwell was undeniably in love with Bellatrix Black and they were all fools for thinking otherwise. What did they actually think this cock-fight was about anway? Who was going to be the lead Chaser on the bloody Slytherin Quidditch team? She felt herself gritting her teeth, while still trying to act like the dutiful date that she was supposed to be. She leaned back to Zeke, about to retaliate with her own angry statement, telling him to cut it out, when his lips connected with her neck, his teeth barely grazing her skin and causing her to yelp loudly, ”Zeke!”
He touched her hip again, as if to tell her that he was in completely control and she nearly lost it. When had she become such an insignificant pawn in the horrific love-triangle that seemed to be radiating off of Bells, Rod, and Zeke? She tried to keep the anger at a low simmer, though, knowing full well that they were selling this for Zeke’s sake. They had been friends once...and friendship was something that she valued these days; especially with the mess that she had made with Siobhan, ”I fold.”[/b] She muttered as she pushed her cards away from her. Going off a three of hearts wasn’t going to get her very far and she knew it. It was better to quit while she was ahead, something that she wished that Zeke would do as well...
Vincent Mortelle asked for the legal ladies and she was half-cocked to raise her hand and get the hell out of here, even if it was with a man who looked to be three or four times her age. But she kept her lips sealed shut, leaning against Zeke as they sat there, her eyes narrowed, still, her mind wondering if this whole thing had possibly been a mistake...she had the strangest feeling that she was going to come out of here with a hell of a good story, but no more money than she had gone in with.
