[/b] She said to Maxwell and then rolled her eyes, ”No need to rub it in everyone else’s faces.”[/b] She pressed her martini glass to her lips, trying her best to ignore the nagging feeling of anger in the back of her mind.
Atlanta kept quiet for a few minutes, watching as Caitlin Gallagher walked into the room and made herself quite comfortable with Joram. She reminded herself that when this was all over, she would have to get to know Cait a little bit better; she seemed like a really genuine girl...a girl that probably didn’t belong out here with all the trash of the castle. She then turned her attention back to Zeke who was presently shooting insults at her from the corner of his mouth, something that she was all too familiar with. She had had her share of the Slytherin boys when she used to run in their circles and she knew how petty he could be. Her bet was someone had recently been playing with him and she would put money on the oldest Black girl; their tension on the pitch was unheard of and she was sure she wasn’t the only one seeing it, ”You catty little thing.”
It was then that Lucius Malfoy entered the scene, poured himself a drink of vodka straight, and much to Lanta’s surprise, his second plan of action was apparently coming to the rescue of Lanta whose mouth fell open in shock. Had the Slytherin boy just been playing defense on her account. For a moment, she could do nothing but stare at her apparent knight-in-shining armor although, he rather looked as if he had forgotten to shave for the past couple of weeks. Yes, Lucius Malfoy looked as if he was a hobo playing dress up in a rich man’s clothes. Lant leaned over the bar so that she was in closer proximity to Mr. Malfoy, ”Thanks.”[/b] She said with a hushed tone, hoping that no one would overhear her. She didn’t really need people knowing that she had completely dropped off the face of the planet lately...
To make it less suspicious, she grabbled the bottle of vodka and poured more into her glass to top it off, ”Vive la Hufflepuff!”[/b] She cried cheerfully, not realizing how close in proximity Rodolphus had grown to her. She listened to his words, trying her best not to slap him right then and there, even though her hands were itching. At one point in her life, she would have loved the thought of going broom-cloesting with Rodolphus, but now it seemed like a distant and stained memory. She was a different person now - perhaps playing the part of her old self for the sake of the evening and the gambling - but a different person all together, ”We’ll have to see if you behave yourself, Lestrange.”[/b] She giggled, running her finger up the sleeve of his tuxedo jacket and then proceeding to turn around so that she was facing Lucius behind the bar yet again. She gave a quick roll of her eyes and tried not to pay any more attention to the man-whore that was frequenting the ladies behind her. She could feel his fingertips still on her and for a moment she thought that she was going to throw up all over The Nighthouse and ruin the magical night, but she pushed the thought from her mind.
Zeke was at it again, shooting insults at Lucius. She was about to say something when she was suddenly pulled out of Rod’s grasp by a very manic looking Zeke. He grabbed her and pulled her close, causing her eyes to go wide in suspicion. It was then the he began explaining the situation into her ear. She had two choices; expose Zeke for whatever he was trying to do...and get him kicked out of The Nighthouse or play along with this little game that he had going on. Pulling back from her, se could see the look of desperation that was on his face. Immediately she started giggling, ”Honestly, Maxwell!”[/b] She said thought her girlish blush. He was going to owe her big time for whatever stunt he was trying to pull.
