Vicky was supposed to be revising right now.
She sat in the library, her elbow rested on her book and her hand holding her chin, which was rested there. She was just daydreaming, as per usual, about what it would be like to have better parents, what it would be like to have a boyfriend....just general teenage stuff.
Vicky wasn't normal, not on any level. For one, she was a half-blood witch who went to Hogwarts, and two, she was a loner because she wasn't like all the other girls, who obsessed about shoes and clothes and boys. Vicky didn't want to wind up like that.
Vicky thought about it. Boys were okay to daydream about, as she found out in her 3rd year, but there weren't really any decent ones to actually put your mind on nowadays. Not that Vicky had picked up on, anyhow. She sighed deeply and suddenly pulled out her mirror, looking into it.
Was it to do with her? Was she the reason good-looking boys stayed away? Granted, she didn't look like other girls, but...Vicky liked to be special, and...this was a good way to be special. But perhaps boys liked normal...?
Vicky looked at herself. She wasn't blonde, with blue eyes, and she was nowhere near as perfect as them, but...she put her mirror away. She didn't want to be as perfect as all the other girls, and she didn't want to be blonde either, because...
Well, it was mean to say it, so Vicky only ever thought it; the saying that said something about blondes being dumb was, in her opinion, true. When it came to girls, anyway. Blonde boys were just eye candy for all the dumb blondes and the other girls as well.
Vicky was so caught up in thought she wasn't registering on anything happening around her.
