( PERSONALITY ) : Nova is aloof and complex, but her secretive, somewhat withdrawn nature is only because of the past she’s been dealt, and even then a lot of it is just a mode of self-protection. Under her cool exterior is a fiery passion, and it shows through if you have more than one conversation with her. She’s a very passionate person, and half-way is not a word in Nova’s vocabulary when it comes to anything. There are no half measures in her life. She is an emotional person, and she takes her emotions to the limits. She She also seeks approval in a lot of her life, even though she won’t verbalize it. She gives 100 percent of herself to others and expects the same, if not more, in return. She’s demanding of herself and others, but when she gives her heart to someone she is loyal and committed to anything she does, including relationships - she adores the idea of love, despite having her heart shattered. It’s a challenge that excites her. More than anything love is what she wants, even if it’s not a romantic love. She just wants to be cared for like she’s supposed to be.

She’s the strong silent type and some would say she has a magnetic aura. She has something that’s hard to put your finger on, but makes it nearly impossible for people to ignore her. She knows full well that she can manipulate people and she loves it, though she only uses manipulation if she truly needs to. Even though she won’t always communicate her feelings, her eyes do a lot of communicating for her. She’s a determined person. Sometimes she can come off as insensitive to other’s needs. She can also be seen as obsessive because she pushes forward so single-mindedly. But she simply wants to be the best, and she won’t let anything stand in the way. But, she’s always willing to share in her successes. She’s not afraid of obstacles or challenges, and rather than running from them she thrives on them. And she has a very ruthless streak to her. If someone tries to corner her or put her in a difficult position they’d better be prepared to give their best shot because Nova won’t give in until she’s crushed them body, mind, and spirit. And she’s not one to act on impulse, either. She’s one that believes revenge is a dish best served cold. She’ll wait until the perfect time; time is no consequence when it comes to wreaking vengeance.

( HISTORY ) : Nova was born in mid-November to parents far too young to be able to handle her. As a child she was often left alone and abandoned for hours on end, sometimes even a day would go by without her parents caring for her properly. They fed her, certainly, but she was never played with like your average muggle baby. Soon after she was born her father and mother left one another (they were never married). While it was the 60’s and it was no surprise that Donna had a daughter so young, she was the most ill-equipped mother, and she was who Nova was left with when her parents split. By the time she was six her powers started to show. Her mother was convinced there was something wrong with her and began sending her to therapy after school. Her therapist said she was mostly normal, though she did seem a bit attention starved. Her mother told the therapist she didn’t have a clue why Nova would be that way, brought her home, and spent her day doing drugs and escaping the life she created for herself. Nova pretty much raised herself. When she was eleven she received her Hogwarts letter and could not have been more relieved, but leaving her mother would take a greater toll on her life than she imagined.

When she returned home in the summer she found her mother in a daze on the couch with a new man in her life, who Nova had never met. The water didn’t work and the lights were off. Her mother had forgotten to pay their bills. Nova screamed at her mother, and the new man in her life, who Nova would soon enough learned was name Leon shouted at her and went to hit her. Nova was too fast for him, though, and she spent practically the remainder of her summer in her room, as far away from her mother as possible. She’d considered writing her dad, but he’d been absent from her life for so long, she wasn’t sure there was anything left to say.

It was her third year when she met Justin. He was the nicest boy she’d ever met, and he took care of her. He showed her that there was a side of life she’d never known before. He introduced her to love. She’d never truly known happiness until she knew him. He introduced her to his parents, and she grew to love them as her own. It was bliss, and when she left she told them she had to go to boarding school, but that she’d be back around summer. Nova didn’t like going home for the Holidays because her mother only infuriated her. She stayed hopelessly in love with Justin for three years. It was around her sixteenth birthday when she finally decided she could tell Justin what she really was. Her mother denied Nova’s witching ability completely, but she thought she could trust Justin with what she was.

But nothing lasts forever.

Justin thought her magical abilities made her a freak. He never showed up for her sixteenth birthday party, and that’s when Nova knew it was over between them. Her heart shattered as she realized everything that she would be losing. As a result of Justin’s reaction the Ministry was called in, and they erased the memories of the past three years, of ever meeting Nova from his mind, and Nova was forced to watch them do it, tears streaming down her cheeks. They would not erase him from her mind, no matter how many times she asked. The pain hurt, and hurt, and hurt, and it still hurts. She still misses him every single day. She’s tried to fill the void of happiness and love that he left with different things like Quidditch, but none of them seem to work. He showed her how to be happy, and without him and his family, all she has is her mother and Leon, who she hates.
