Andromeda Cassia Black is the dutiful daughter of Cygnus Black III and Druella Black, a former Rosier. Her childhood was steeped in tradition, wealth, and privelege: while the wealth has ... been spent, due to her father's more risky forms of personal entertainment, the duty, tradition, and privelege still withstands in her family. She and her sisters are being sold off - one by one - to other wealthy families; so far, Bellatrix has been promised to the Lestrange family, and she has been promised to Jacen Frost. However, it should be noted that the same day she was informed of her new betrothal... she met a boy. Theodore Tonks was supposed to be just a tutor; no one special, simply a boy to teach her how to better her potions grade. The butterflies were unexpected, and dutifully crushed. Andromeda will simply refuse to allow simple feelings get in the way of duty... no matter how strong, no matter how much she hates being controlled... she has to do it, for family.

Andromeda is one of the friendlier of the Black sisters; warmer than her younger sister, and far more level-headed than Bellatrix, Andromeda is truly the "happy medium" of the family. This has afforded her rich friendships in her own house, and even some in others. She is very close with Sirius, her Gryffindor cousin, despite certain differences. As quite a girly sort of girl (fashion is her forte, and her love of shoes is currently unrivaled) Andromeda prefers to keep female friends, though she does have quite a few male ones, as well, but many of those can easily be classified below, as well... Half-blood and Muggle-born friendships are harder for her, due to her family, but as her personal subplot progresses and she's pushed more and more away from that, it will become easier - especially as her relationship with Ted deepens.

Andromeda is a flirt. No ifs, ands, or buts. She has always been a flirt, and that will likely not change until she is so desperately in love that she sees nothing but him. (And that level of devotion will, by the by, come.) While Andromeda will certainly stay true to her betrothal at the moment, she knows that doesn't mean they have to be together right this moment. At present, Andromeda will be dating Jacen (as will her sister, though, so that won't last long) but that doesn't mean she won't be flirting with others. When it comes to some things, Andromeda can be cold, but when it comes to matters of the heart, she's as warm as they come. Andromeda has many former boyfriends, but they all parted fairly amicably once the dust cleared. They were all from proper houses and families (Ravenclaws or Slytherins) that her own family did approve of; this is unnegotiable. She likely remains good friends with quite the number of them.

As a Slytherin, a Black, and sister to Bellatrix, Andromeda has never been without enemy. However, she does not actively engage. She finds herself above the level of corridor dueling, and other unnecessary violence. That doesn't mean that she doesn't find some pleasure in a good tongue-lashing when it calls for it, but she will seldom act unless provoked. This, of course, is due to change in time, as her loyalties falter and switch; and I am perfectly open to plot suggestions.
