Professor Tom Riddle looked around his new office with a smug look on his face. After all, he did have a right to be proud; he’d found a way to trick Dumbledore into allowing him into the castle and teaching students in the ways of the Dark Arts. Of course, he had still had to make some slight changes to his curriculum when he submitted it to Dumbledore, but he would follow his original plan and then offer “special tutoring” sessions to those that he felt showed exception promise.
Professor Riddle had already seen a couple of students that he’d like to get a chance to talk to in a one-on-one basis and he’d decided to waste no time in scheduling an appointment with one of them. He pulled out a piece of parchment and pulled out a quill and began to speak, watching as the quill dictated for him on it’s own.
Madam Black,
I would like to speak with you in my office promptly at 7 p.m. regarding your performance in class last year, as well as to discuss your plans with the quidditch team this year. Do NOT be late.
Sincerely,
Professor Tom Riddle
Professor Riddle walked over to the letter and folded it neatly into an envelope, he grabbed a near by candle and poured the green wax onto the opened before pressing his Slytherin ring into the wax neatly forming the Slytherin seal. Professor Riddle snapped his finger twice as a house elf apparated into the room and instantly received a scowl from Professor Riddle, “What took you so long? Never make me wait that long again or I will gut you myself. Are we clear?” Professor Riddle snapped at the house elf who simply nodded his head in agreement, “Deliver this to Madam Black in the Slytherin house at once.” Professor Riddle turned away from the elf and began reviewing the text book that Dumbledore had insisted he use. He found it to be worthless but had obliged Dumbledore simply to keep the peace, he knew he would need to pick his battles and to him a textbook was not a battle worth fighting.

Professor Riddle sat down at his desk, looking at his clock; it was 6:50. This meant that Bellatrix had precisely ten minutes before Professor Riddle would be hunting her down and punishing her for making him wait; Professor Riddle did not tolerate tardiness. Professor Riddle adjusted his teacher’s robes, ensuring his appearance was up to par before neatly folding his hands in front of him and waiting impatiently on Bellatrix.
