Max tried to imagine the shop that was just a few businesses down and found himself utterly unable. It was then that he realized just how little he got out of his own shop. He hardly set foot out the front door when it wasn’t demanded of him, let alone went out for coffee or drinks at the local bars. And he had most certainly never been to a restaurant with intent to actually eat there. Listening to her describe it though, Max was sure that he was going to be alright with it. After all, there were only so many home-cooked noodle dishes that he could take without going crazy. She said that she missed the food at home but this seemed to hit the spot and it got Max thinking again. What if he started to let go? Would his parents have wanted that for him? Would they have wanted him to actually have a life outside of what had happened to them? He found that the thoughts were blocked by some mental sort of barrier and he was unable to dwell on them. He quickly gave up trying and focused his attention back on Eden, ”It sounds nice, Eden,” He said, running a hand through his dark hair as he thought. He wasn’t sure what he was getting himself into, but for a moment, he just didn’t care. There was only so much in the world that he could take, but this seemed to be one of the things that he was perfectly able - and willing - to tolerate.
She called him out on trying to hide his smile and Max just shook his head. She was a clever little one, that Eden Wolf. Something that he hadn’t expected from her. It appeared as if she was able to sense the way that he was feeling with just a look. Hypersensitivity to emotions, he thought. It was interesting, even before he had closed up the way that he had, he had never met anyone like her. She was soft and gentle and at the same time outspoken and amusing. Max stopped shaking his head and then offered her the best that he could do: He offered her the tiniest bit of the smile on the corners of his lips, hoping that it would keep her at bay, ”Sometimes opening up’s not that hard when you’ve got an excellent tutor.” He shrugged his shoulders, trying to make it sound as casual as possible, ”Guess we will.” He replied, watching her as she began looking out the window. He wondered what she was staring at.
He wasn’t sure what to do next and the pair of them just sat in the silence. It wasn’t as if it was awkward...by any accounts. The silence was comforting...like two old friends catching up. Max leaned forward and put his head on his hand and then looked up at Eden, ”So do you come out to Hogsmeade often? I thought it was just a monthly thing with the school?” He questioned and then coughed into his hand.
