keep your friends close Tobias William Nott is a seventeen year old Slytherin. He has a very pretty face, piercing blue eyes, and a relatively nice personality to match, all things considering. He is very studious, but this is mostly because he enjoys being precise than for having a love of learning. He can be very serious, but also very sarcastic for those who don't know him very well. He is a pureblood and is very much aware of it. He can come off as a bit stuck up, especially if one is Muggleborn. If he isn't sneering at you because another pureblood is in his presence, then he is pretending that you don't exist. He doesn't mind halfbloods nearly as much as he probably should, but he also can count the number of them he has as his friends on one hand. He attends charities hosted by the Ministry every single time he is required to, and he often pledges to give a little too much if he believes the cause is worth it. He is very quick on his feet and doesn't get caught in a bad situation often, but, on the off chance that he was, he tends to give himself away because he will fidget. And, he is incredibly honest to a fault. Manipulative he might be, but he's also brutally honest to the point of getting himself into situations he has to lie himself out of. He was raised in an elite family, so it'll be very rare to catch him making an obvious mistake or embarrassing his family in any way. He aims for the best and has very little tolerance for those who make bad decisions that will affect him in any negative way.

and your enemies closer Despite being a relatively well-mannered guy to get along with, Tobias has quite a few people who don't like him. Yes, he's sarcastic and people remember that, but he's also not as 'elite' as, say, his brother is. He has no problems talking to halfbloods who prove themselves, and will sooner ignore a Muggleborn than talk to them unless a more powerful pureblood is around. There are also the people who remember his attitude from when he was younger and didn't associate with them as often. He believes that people should look respectable at all times, and that it is never okay to be embarrassing. He has an 'I-don't-care attitude that can seem cold and standoffish, but he can be quite the opposite. He dislikes animals - particularly those of feline descent.

the heart wants what it wants In the past, Tobias has had a number of girlfriends. He tends to date them long-term rather than have a fling-a-week type of person. He is a bit of a flirt, and is very honest about his emotions. However, while in a relationship, he is incredibly loyal and will dislike the people who try to drive a stake into those relationships. He doesn't like scandal. He did have a long relationship - a year - back when he was 14, and it didn't end prettily, so if anyone wants to look into that it would be fun.

BELLATRIX PROSERPINA BLACK & @tobias || so i’ve got darling bellatrix here and whereas they might not necessarily see eye to eye about most things, she probably respects him for being a ‘valuable’ member of Slytherin society. she will applaud him for always being on his best behavior ~~only if it is a game that he plays~~. i’m not sure what kind of relationship we could develop between the two of them, but we might find something worthwhile!

ATLANTA TWAINE VAISEY & @tobias || they’re both in the same year, lanta is a 6th year hufflepuff from a prestigious pureblood family. it’s probably certain that they know each other…she also might be a candiate for the ‘love gone awry’ a year ago. she was once very invested in pureblood sentiments, but she grew away from it all and sort of ostracized herself in the process. might be that she also ostracized herself from Tobias as well? thoughts? feel free to add/subtract/negate/whatever! :}

@basil & @tobias || this lot are in the same house and year, so it’s quite certain that they know each other. i could see them being good friends of sorts? basil gets in trouble a lot for skipping class and generally isn’t a very nice person, so he could use a mate to keep him on track!

@tobias & BELLATRIX PROSERPINA BLACK ;; I've never seen the word 'darling' to describe bellatrix. (kidding!) I can see that. He'd also probably, begrudgingly, respect her for being an older, distinguished member. if she ever makes fun of him for his nice attitude, then he'd probably do the same for her knack of getting into shenanigans. and, if she were and they were on good terms, i'd imagine she could use him as a good alibi from time to time.

@tobias & ATLANTA TWAINE VAISEY ;; yaay. :3 i was a little worried no one would want to play that out, but totally. tobias may not look like it, but he's a little of a romantic and doesn't take bad news very well. so, when she started pulling away from him, i imagine that he wasn't very pleased. he probably tried to corner her to get her to talk to him. when she wouldn't, he isn't the type of guy to spread rumors, but if people were to ask him about her...he would mention how close she was getting to blood traitor status. (while never actually saying the words. probably just dancing around it)

@tobias & @basil ;; just like bellatrix in the sense that tobias is always a good alibi for when anyone is in trouble. he doesn't have that tendency to lie, and he has the face of someone trustworthy...or as trustworthy as you can get coming from slytherin. -cough- he would definitely be the voice of reason, getting onto basil and telling him when to choose his battles and when to walk away. in an opposite kind of way, tobias is probably at his worst when basil is around and, therefore, maintains that proper stature in the house of snakes instead of toeing that line of blood traitor status.

@sev – For starters, Snape is going to have a strong bias against Tobias just because of his name. Severus hates his father more than anyone alive. And while it might be unfair to blame Nott for sharing that name, he would have a hard time getting past it. He'd probably be more taciturn and short-tempered than usual, which might have gotten them off to a bad start with one another. Mind you, Sev has only very recently started coming into his own, as opposed to blindly following @lucius. That means that 1) he wouldn't have consciously made an enemy of a Pureblood Syltherin and 2) if Lucius and Nott were on friendly terms, Snape would at least attempt to curb his tongue. (That being said, Bella is an outright enemy of Sev's – so depending on how close Nott is to her, that affects things.) The point is, it's probably easy to make them enemies, but we could bring them around to something more like having mutual respect for one another, if you want; especially now that Sev's starting to... branch out.

@andromeda – Well now, I can see a couple different possibilities for these two. I think personality-wise they might get along. She would appreciate his sarcasm, and she'd be relieved that he's less of a bigot than most of their House. Dromeda's been struggling with blood purity and ethics for years, so anyone who shows some sense of morality is alright in her books. I could totally see them being friends, as two of the more reasonable Slytherins. On the other hand, since he's from such a prestigious family, it's highly probable that he was suggested to her as a potential husband. She's had endless pressure from her family to get betrothed to some fine, upstanding Pureblood – and it's very likely that Tobias' name would've come up. She's extremely exasperated with the situation, so we could make that a sticking point for them. Either in a teasing, friendly way or else, if we wanted them to be more antagonistic, it could be something to turn them against one another. I'm open to either.

I'm also playing @wormtail, for a potential enemy, and @sterling, the Hogwarts Art Professor. Both of them are available for plotting, too, if you have ideas!

@tobias & @sev ;; He would probably just deal with it. he's not really one to pay attention to the social norm. So long as they stay united in public and don't show a divided front in front of any other the other houses, then he wouldn't see anything wrong with them not being the best of friends. He's very calm, although I imagine he would be as sarcastic and bring it up from time to time. I think Lucius would be closer to Tobias' older brother, but the two would have run into the same circles. He is a very big fan of neutrality. He's aware that it won't last very much longer when he gets out of school, but he would take the insults with ease. He'd probably dish a couple out himself, too. I think the mutual respect would work better, particularly since they've had to live with each other.

@tobias & @andromeda ;; They could start off being friends, but I think, towards the end, that's where they would run into some problems. While he isn't as big of a bigot as the rest of his house, he would probably get annoyed if they got into the arguments for long periods of time. He really wants to maintain neutrality. He might have been among those who were suggested, and he probably would have made some dull, sarcastic comment about it. That could be the source of falling out for them. Like, he'd offer it since they're friends and he would be a good option. The Notts and the Blacks aren't that closely related, either. He'd tease her about it at first, but in time, it would probably frustrate him.

@tobias & @wormtail ;; No, yeah they would be enemies. Especially if Tobias and Severus did turn out to be friends or familiar-acquaintances. He is a firm believer in house-unity. Even if it's all about politics, he would take that as an attack against him and be annoyed about it. He might not have attacked them inwardly, but he would have come up with a way to get his revenge.

Figure it's about time I post in here so I'm just gonna go down my list of folks and see what we can drum up.

In the past Integra has been a bit of a whore to be frank, so I don't really see them in any sort of substantial relationship or fling. She would, however, very likely, have flirted with him in the past. She's been the prime example of a pureblood since day one and she's not a girl one would like to make enemies with. She's nasty with a hex and a bit of a relentless dueler. She does happen to be Bellatrix's best friend so depending on how that goes, I could see the pair getting on just fine. As far as house loyalty goes though, he may think less of her. She spends a lot of time in ravenclaw with her boyfriend.

This is probably much the same as Integra's set up. He's a perfect little pureblood up until it comes to being an elitist and then he doesn't really give two shits about picking sides. He has a baby on the way so that's his main focus. However, he and Bells are enemies sooooo she could influence this. (I'm seeing she has a lot of pull in people's lives.)

Amycus is a flat out ass hole. He literally thinks nearly everyone else is beneath him. He had very few friends and really his friends are just acquaintences that he's nicer to. His loyalty lies solely with the Dark Lord and he only does things if they bennefit him in some way. He's a malicious prick who thinks he's holier than everyone else. Sooooo tobias can take that as he wishes.

Uhhhh those are all the ones that make sense to me, but feel free to drop by here to check out the others I didn't post and feel free to hit me up on any of them.

@tobias & @teggy ;; Depending on how she acts in public, he might try to avoid her all together. He wouldn't really want to fight anyone. It isn't that he dislikes the other houses. It is more like he can't stand when people automatically assume they're all horrible. (In a sense, they are, and he acknowledges that. He just doesn't like it when other people throw that in his face.)

@tobias & @rodolphus ;; Poor Tobias. XD I didn't realize that having a makeshift friendship with Bella would put any other friendships he has in any trouble. I imagine that it could be along the same. They would have gone to all the pureblood functions together when they were children. And, while Tobias tended to follow along after his older brother, I imagine that the two of them knew one each other. Maybe they weren't friends, but Rodolphus could warn Tobias of the company he's keeping?

@tobias & @amycus ;; Yeah, he may not be that big of a bigot, but he'd probably put heads with someone who thought they were better than him without any backup for it. They'd probably have a couple of mixed words, and probably didn't get along the best. I'm leaning more towards enemy than anything else, especially if Amycus knows how neutral Tobias intends to be. I'm thinking maybe a couple of threats?

I'm really bad at plotting. XD
