ELIZABETH SPARKS - 16 - hufflepuff 6th year

Meet EFFY! This charming lass from Scotland comes from a complicated family. When Effy was younger her mother had a mental breakdown and tried to commit suicide in front of her. Since then her mother has been institutionalised (it’s a secret) and her father had remarried the woman he had an affair with. This has lead Effy to dread being home, but feel guilty for hating it because she has a new little brother whom she holds no grudge over. Despite her family life, nothing of this is revealed in her everyday encounter. She is headstrong, bold, a little flamboyant and charming. She is fun loving and extremely loyal. Because of her family life she is sceptical and cynical about love, however grand it may seem. She finds the notion of love absurd, but doesn’t mind having fun with boys. The older she gets the wilder she gets, and she doesn’t mind partying hard, perhaps a little too hard. Drinking and binging makes her forget her horrible past and makes her see her future as brighter.

FRIENDS: A MUST-HAVE! She's seventeen. She likes to party. She is in touch with her rebel side (especially lately) and she's extremely easy-going. People just like her. She needs friends, and a best friend. Feel free to apply!

FOES: She holds grudges, she has a temper, she can be quite nasty and she is stubborn as heck. Has anyone rubbed her the wrong way, or does anyone else find her sense of being annoying? Rivals? Mortal enemies?

ROMANCE: She's an attractive seventeen-year-old girl, people are going to notice her. She's cute and beautiful, charming and sweet. She is sceptical and cynical when it comes to love. She doesn't mind flirting or having fun with boys. Feel free to play around with her emotions, if you can.

MIZUKI HASHIMOTO - 16 - ravenclaw 5th year

The cute, shy and adorable MIZUKI! Mizuki was born in South Korea and has lived most of her life in Japan where she attended Mahoutokoro School of Magic. Mizuki is extreamly cute and endearing. She has a very youthful and innocent appearance, however, that is only if you notice her. She is quite shy and is often overlooked in a big crowd. She tends to blush when spoken to and to be quite clumsy. She is however, extremely intelligent and hard working, and she enjoys reading, especially romance novels and manga. She had a loving life in Japan and strived to win her father’s approval in Transfiguration, making it her strongest subject. She is extremely skilled in it. In Japan her mother had an affair, which resulted in a separation. Mizuki and her mother moved to England where Mizuki was forced to attend Hogwarts against her will. Mizuki is currently very miserable at Hogwarts and doesn’t understand why she had to live here with her mother instead of back in Japan with her father. However, this is because, unknown to Mizuki, she is not his biological daughter.

FRIENDS: Mizuki doesn’t make friends easily; mostly because she is so shy she can hardly talk to people. However, there is someone bound to notice her eventually, and once you get to know her you will know a kind and very gentle natured girl with a truly beautiful mind.

FOES: I’m not sure how she could make foes, but perhaps there are racists out there that doesn’t like Asians? This is the 70s, right?

ROMANCE: Mizuki can get a crush on someone, but there is no way he’d approach that guy. She’d probably get a nosebleed if he talked to her. I kind of see her falling for someone warm and completely oblivious to her crush, but only see her as sweet and slightly weird. She’s quite naïve so, I guess I’m open for anything.

alright, so this is lanta, my sixth year hufflepuff. they’re both in the same house and same years, so we have reason to believe that they know each other pretty well! lanta was a bit of a bitch her first years at hogwarts, buying into pureblood eltisism and other nonsense, but she seemed to have turned her life around, until now at least. due to certain cirumstances, she’s withdrawn back into her shell, finding herself more alienated than ever before. i know you’re looking for a really good friend for effy, and she might fit the bill, although i’m not sure how she would have taken to atlanta’s seemingly bi-polar personalities...thoughts? :]

ATLANTA & EFFY

It would be fun with Effy and Atlanta started out as a little bit of bickering foes, in their early years. Whenever Atlanta would show her elitist values, Effy would be brave enough to sometimes speak out against it. I donno. Just an idea. Somewhere along the line the two girls had some sort of epic moment where they saw that they weren't all that different (

) and found really good friends in each other. I think iffy would be able to handle Atlanta's mood and bi-polar tendencies. Once Effy has made up her mind she STICKS to it, so if she's decided to bet on Atlanta, she is going to bet on Atlanta. I think that Effy also could be a positive force in Atlanta's life? Maybe there is some sad story that Atlanta has that she wants to share with Effy, or regardless of whether or not she wants to share, but ends up sharing anyways?

Backstory about Effy: she comes from a broken home. Divorced family, hardly any relatives, has a younger sisters from her father's new marriage. All this = troubles.

BAZ & EFFY

OMG! He's gorgeous! Effy would definitely find him attractive. Feel free to play around with her emotions. I haven't exactly decided just how naive Effy is (I need to start RPing her to find that out) or how she interacts with boys, although something tells me that she often acts more like "one of the guys" than "one of the girls". She's kind of a "looks can be deceiving" kind of girl. She looks extremely girlish and her personality is cute and all that, but I think she'd be more comfortable around guys just because it's less drama, hahah

Or perhaps Bazil is full of drama too? Regardless, we should RP them and see where it leads to, but yeah, again, he's suuuuuuper gorgeous!

ahhahahah yes! it would be hilarious if they hated each other at the beginning and then it slowly developed into a sort of friendship. the only sad story i can really think of right now is that lanta has been dealing with her forced break-up with mikael erixon to protect him from the death eaters and such. but she hasn’t been able to tell anyone because she doesn’t want to risk his protection. i’m not sure she would be willing to risk it, even if she and effy were close. but i do imagine that she would let her in at least a little bit...maybe effy corners her and demands to know what’s wrong..? i dunno, i’m just currently spit-balling ideas!

BAZ & EFFY

isn’t he just?! ;] i’m basically in love with him, hahaha. and basil is FULL of the drama. i’m fairly certain that’s what makes him tick - but like you, i haven’t exactly worked out all the kinks so i’m not totally sure how that would work... i want to say that baz has probably had a crush on effy, or at least an infatuation with her, for a little while now and he’s been sending her spanish roses (god, he’s so incredibly tool-y, but it’s hilarious) every morning at breakfast. that being said, we should absolutely thread them together because i need to get basil on the boards and i think this could be hilarious.

SEVERUS & EFFY

I'm not sure how plottable these two will be, but I'm including him here because he's in the same year as Effy. Having admitted that I don't have any specific ideas for the two of them, I'm always open to play Sev with absolutely anyone! So if you can think of anything, then by all means let me know. They probably don't get along that well, but what classes is she good at? I s'pose it could be fun playing them as annoying to one another or something in lessons, possibly? XD

ANDROMEDA & EFFY

Well, if Effy's going to be friends with Atlanta, then she'll probably end up getting to know Andy, eventually. Also, of my three student characterss, Dromeda is by far the nicest and most easy-going. She's been forcibly sheltered in the "Pureblood bubble" her whole life, but the Black Sisters' father died (in November). So for the first time, Andy has some freedom. She doesn't believe in blood purity, but she's still being swept in with the Death Eaters thanks to Bellatrix. So, on the whole, she's feeling caught in the eye of the storm. She wants to lead a normal life and follow her own beliefs, but it's not easy. Regardless, she can be a very sympathetic person at heart. Plus, she's also in 6th Year, so she'd probably know Effy at least by sight.

ZOLA & EFFY

Snakes, snakes, and more snakes! And again, I'll need to give some backstory. Nobody really knew who Zola was until last year, when she turned up married to an Italian businessman, Salvatore Zabini. It was gossip that spread through the whole school, and her infamy increased this year, because she's now a wealthy widow. She doesn't really have friends at school, but it might be fun to throw her and Effy together as 'foes.' Zola is also extremely superstitious and into Divination, if that would make any sort of difference. She's a year ahead of Effy in school, but if the two ever crossed one another, Zola would have made it her business to find out who Elizabeth is. ;]

ATLANTA & EFFY

I think that it is hiiiighly possible that Effy would try and push it a little with Atlanta, trying to figure out exactly why she broke up with her ex-boyfriend. Perhaps Atlanta has given Effy an explanation, but it is a lie and Effy is totally not buying it, like, perhaps Effy has seen too much of Alana's dark side (when they were younger and foes) and seen her good sides to now be able to tell when she's lying. The good part here is that I don't think Effy would blame Atlanta for lying, it would be more like Effy imagines that she has her reasons, might be a little hurt about them, but in the end would want to help Atlanta.

BAZ & EFFY

Sending roses to a Scottish lass? Oh my, she will be charmed. But we should definitely thread them, to make out what's what.

SEVERUS & EFFY

Effy is overall an average student, but I'm sure she'd give Severus a run for his money in potions. Although she is not the potions genius that Severus is, I am pretty sure she would sometimes frustrate him wit her skills. He might be able to revolutionize the way they make potions, but she is able to make excellent potions with the use of her normal books. Effy is also skilled in Herbology.

I think Effy would mostly be annoyed by Severus and perhaps find him a little creepy. She, like so many others, can be a little quick to judge, but that's only because she hasn't really experienced him in any other way. It would be fun if they both annoyed each other =)

ANDROMEDA & EFFY

I think it would be okay to assume that they are somewhat friends. Speaking terms, warming up to each other? Perhaps Effy always sort of liked Andoromeda in the way people sometimes just get fascinated by other people for no good reason, like she could just feel the vibe coming off Andromeda and think: "hey, she seems okay". I think Effy would admire that despite the fact that her family is the Black's, she's never really displayed her pureblood beliefs that aggressively. And if Effy got to know Andy then she would know that Andy's not for the pureblood beliefs. I can imagine that they could work well together and sit next to each other in class. Effy is also a very likable person. She can be quite colorful but never too flashy in personality.

ZOLA & EFFY

So, Effy would probably have heard about Zola and found the whole thing creepy and weird. Getting married at such a young age, I'm sure iffy would have an opinion on that. Anyway, Effy is NOT superstitious at all, in fact, she finds superstition tedious and stupid, so it would be safe to assume that Effy wouldn't think that much of Zola. Effy might've overheard one of Zola's superstitions and made a snide comment on it in the past, making the two girls dislike each other?

Sirius Orion Black & @effy

Since they're in the same year and she seems friendly, I'm sure she and Sirius would have crossed paths at some point, probably even worked together on an assignment. I can see them as friends - not best friends or anything, but friends nonetheless.

NOAH JUDE CARDIN & @effy

Since Effy likes to party, she probably would have come across Noah at some point. Noah is pretty... slummy, but he's as nice as can be. Well, other than the fact that he's cheating on his current girlfriend with his ex but whatever. Perhaps he and Effy are friends and she teases him about what he's doing? Noah likes to drink, smoke, smoke weed, do whatever drug is offered to him, so maybe they can be like party buddies.

BLAIR ELISA MASON & @mizuki

Since Mizuki is new, I think Blair would take an immediate interest. Blair is pretty intimidating, but I think she'd like Mizuki for her intelligence. Blair has what some people call a "photographic memory" (eidetic). However, she has pretty strong beliefs against Muggles and the like (despite the fact that she's half-blood) and I'm sure after a while of one-sided rambling to Mizuki (she'd probably ramble to Mizuki even if she doesn't respond) she'd get on Mizuki's nerves. Mizuki seems the type to probably be so nice that she wouldn't say anything, but maybe it would bubble up in her.

Sirius Orion Black & @mizuki

Sirius would obviously notice a new student. I think he'd be the nicer version of Blair. He'd ramble, but he'd show her around the school and try to find her friends. I think he'd look at her sort of like a child, not in a condescending way, but because he'd take her under his wing and try to make sure that she's happy and comfortable at Hogwarts. I'm not sure if they'd have a proper friendship, I think it'd be more that Sirius is sort of acting like a mentor to her.
