Last class for the day, finally. Not that classes ever particularly put a damper on Kitty's day, but today they all just seemed to go on and on and on. There were only so many lectures and writing a person could do in a day before things just smooshed all together into one big, boring mess. As she walked out of the classroom she felt much better, until of course she realized she had nothing to do and the inevitable listless feeling sank in.
As her mind wandered for something to occupy the remainder of her day, it wandered somewhere that instantly brought an unfightable smile to her face. A certain boy, the least Ravenclaw of all the Ravenclaws, she remembered with a giggle, and the very surreal, and unexpectedly yet quite perfectly romantic moments they had shared. Their time had ended quite abruptly, what with curfew having snuck right up on them along with a rather testy prefect. But all good things and all that.
Along with that, a silly little promise had snuck back to her memory. A ridiculous notion, and one that only he would understand, and everyone else would be left wondering, concerned, or a mixture of both.
It didn't take very long for her to find the History of Magic classroom, and students were already shuffling to file out. The only problem now was for her to get the ear to ear smile off her face and prepare to burst into mock hysterics as was the agreement. While she wasn't sure if Zane had thought she'd make good on the idea, she was going to anyway, if only to make him laugh.
Was she going to look utterly ridiculous? Certainly. Did that matter to her? Not in the slightest. She waited as the students trickled out, until Zane was visible. A bright smile came to her face and she waved to him with a wink before putting on the saddest most tearful face she could muster, trying to feign sobbing but it was turning out to be mostly giggles as she ran down the hall a few feet and hid in a little alcove.
Now she had the moment of truth. He'd either follow, laughing or looking comepletely befuddled, or he'd be terribly confused and leave. She was admittedly, desperately hoping for the former accompanied with smiles and laughter, so much so that after the hilariously concerned looking peers passed, she peeked her head out to look for him.
