Blair nodded knowingly even though she had never witnessed someone first-hand allowing their abusers to keep going on their destructive path toward them. “Sort like that syndrome… Stockholm syndrome, I think the Muggles call it?” she let out a small laugh. “What if Stockholm is merely due to the captive being under the Imperius curse? I mean, it would make sense… some of those people escape. So perhaps the captor inadvertently took the spell off or believed that the captive actually liked them but the captive took that moment to escape but once they’re safe the person puts them back under and that’s why they apparently like them and don’t want to give them up.” Maybe she did a little too much research into some Muggle affairs. She always found it perplexing how stupid those kinds of people could be. She shook her head disbelievingly and her curls bounced about like they had a life of their own. “Those people can never accept that perhaps something is simply out of their control. Everything they have has a syndrome or disease when most of the time I’m sure that magic is involved or that there is a wizarding answer. I mean, yes, some of them are legitimate but some of them… no, they’re just grasping for straws. I wonder what its life to live a life full of ignorance? You’re friends with Lily Evans, no, she’s a Muggle born, has she ever explain what it’s like to be raised by practically Neanderthals?” she was careful not to use the word Mudblood. For some reason, despite Severus’ shared dislike for Mudbloods and Muggles, he seemed to have taken a liking to this Evans girl. Blair didn’t know her well, other than the fact that she sort of seemed a bit snotty. She couldn’t really blame Severus, though. Outside of the two’s public falling out a while back; they had been friends since they were young. She couldn’t blame him for have already taking a liking to her and not being able to back out now. It was a weakness, but everyone had them. If Severus liked Lily, there had to be something redeeming about her that overwhelmed his hatred for Mudbloods, and Blair felt like perhaps she would have to see for herself what that was.Blair didn’t recall making Occlumency sound easy by any means. She had thought that she expressed it was difficult. She had noticed this small trait in Severus that he tended to attempt to make others, including her, seem dimmer than he. She was guilty of this, too, but it didn’t make it any less irritating. “Fine, we all have our secrets,” she said with a smile. “I’m not going to force it out of you.” Which, clearly, she couldn’t anyways. Why would he bring it up if he didn’t want to discuss it? Were they not trying to learn the secrets behind coming up with something new? Blair laughed at his response to her rambling. “Merlin, no, I don’t think I’m laboratory rat material and neither are you,” she responded with a grin.Blair chewed on her lower lip as she was lost in thought. Her mind felt a little foggy – she felt like she had violated his mind even though he had consented to it. “If it was easy, everyone would fight it,” she agreed simply, her eyes still slightly glazed over. She doubted that he was going to share with her those secrets, at least not today. She felt a little addled and shaken. “While we’re ahead, why don’t we agree to meet again… soon? That way we can collect ourselves, brainstorm on our own, and then come back and piece it together. How does that sound?”She still felt the energy flowing through her veins of all this knowledge, conversation, and practice. She didn’t want to cut it off but she feared how far she might go if she didn’t stop it now. Blair felt like she was on a high and she needed to cool herself down from it. She had a tendency of getting carried away and that was the last thing that she wanted to do. This was the first time that they had been so blatantly open and trusting with each other and she knew that it would be folly to give everything away immediately. At this way she could relax and be able to record what had just happened – well, not like she was going to forget it. At least she could write down her current thought processes. Maybe once her mind quieted slightly she would have a revelation that might be the key to their progress – or perhaps he would. She looked at Severus admiringly, feeling instantly happy that she had someone she could trust that she could work with… like a partner. She might be brilliant, but two brilliant minds were always better than one. Despite their glaring similarities, they also thought differently which allowed them to complete each other where one of them was lacking.
