Lily didn't hesitate at the note's message, not even for a second. She was a fighter, all right, and she wasn't going down without one. Of course, she knew the dangers of it, having a target on her forehead because of her muggleborn parentage, but that was also one of the reasons she wanted to fight. 'Blood supremacy,' the note said, and if that were the case in the Wizarding world, Lily would never even have been allowed at Hogwarts, nor would two of her best friends, Mary and Marlene. It was going to be a terrible war, she knew, but she wasn't going to sit on the sidelines and watch it happen, she was going to try everything in her power to stop it.
And that was why Lily Evans followed the note to the Hog's Head; she didn't know who it was from, what it might mean, or in any way what would be in store for her there, but it was her best shot. She knew she was late - not something that happened often, but something that was inevitable if you had to scold some third year troublemakers on the way there - and walked briskly, not wanting to seem tardy to whoever had arranged this. She pushed open the door and slipped inside, smiling at what she saw. James was there, along with Sirius (who she really didn't mind that much anymore) and Marlene, along with two other students she knew, but couldn't say she was close friends with, Kastia Grent and Donnie Dokken. Friendly faces. But her smile didn't last long. She walked closer, catching the conversation and looking between all of them, hopping that she'd slipped in without making a fuss, looking like a late slacker (Merlin, only she would worry so much about that).
”We all know who the dark force is, bloody lunatic he is, I hope he gets what is coming to him and he rots…”
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle. In other words if Darkness is rising, we light a candle up under its ass and vanquish it."
Lily chuckled at that, running a hand through her hair as she spared a glance at her boyfriend before looking towards the Hufflepuff again. He was a muggleborn, right? Although it sounded like Kastia had more of a personal vendetta towards it all, and she couldn't help but wonder if Voldemort, or one of the Death Eaters, had done anything to harm her or her family. She found herself hoping they hadn't. "So, nobody here arranged this?" she finally spoke up, moving to lean against the table Marlene and James were sat at. "Somebody obviously wanted us here," she pointed out, almost more to herself as she took the little note out of her pocket and glanced it over again. Why did that writing look so familiar? She thought to bring that up, since she did have a suspicion, but simply held it between two fingers and held it up slightly. "Have to wonder why they would go through so much effort not to show up." She crumbled it up again and put it in her pocket, in thought. "Almost like a test..."
