Atlanta Vaisey did not necessarily get along with her older siblings. First of all, there was Desdemona - her older sister - who seemed to care more about her professional Quidditch career and looking at herself in every mirrored surface she encountered than she did about contacting her younger sister while she was at Hogwarts. Then there was Orpheus - whom Atlanta was fairly certain couldn’t add two and two together nor spell their own last name correctly. However, she did respect that they were blood and blood was thicker than anything else; if there was one thing that she had picked up from her pureblood family ideals, it was that.
Therefore when she had received a letter from Orpheus in his scrawled handwriting detailing how she was to meet him in the Forest late tonight, she knew that she had to appeal to her better judgement and see what he was up to.
Lacing up her combat boots, she stood up and ducked up out of the Hufflepuff Common Room and made her way outside. The air was brisk - march was still warming up and after the sun went down, it felt like January again. Lanta let her eyes adjust to the light of the pale moonlight, humming softly to herself as she made her way down the sloped grass toward the Forest.
“How far into the forest am I supposed to go, Orpheus-” She mumbled as she made her way through the first line of trees into the forest. Biting down on her lip, she avoided the roots that were tangled on the ground. This was the most ridiculous meeting place in the world; honestly, any other normal sibling would have chosen to meet her at The Three Broomsticks for a bit of butterbeer...but no. Orpheus insisted that they meet in the bloody forest.
She heard a sound to her left, but she was so focused on making the clearing that she hardly noticed it. Orpheus. A one track mind was her flaw at this moment and it made her susceptible to the attack that was about to come. It wasn’t until she felt someone’s hands on her that her entire body tensed as she readied a scream against her attacker.
