Creeping out of the Gryffindor common room the small blond made her way through the castle and up toward the astronomy tower. Broom in hand she moved quickly and quietly though the corridors. The events of the last week playing over and over in her head, Kat needed time alone to think about things. What better way to do that than to get in some extra flying practice right? Right. Reaching the tower she climbed the stairs and made her way to the edge. The girl mounted her broom and took off into the night sky.
It was a clear cool night and the crisp air filled her lungs. Katrina sighed and headed for the quidditch pitch. It was the place she did her best thinking. Lately the girl had been off. She has finally met a girl that thought the same way she did. The pair spend night together and it was the happiest Kat had ever been. Then., as if it had all been a dream, it ended. Lucy left an Kat was alone again. Part of her wished it had all been a dream, and not the sick joke that everyone was saying it was. Had the whole thing been a prank? Did Lucy know she was leaving the next day? Questions spun through the girls mind as she zipped around the rings. As much as she wished it was just a coincidence, all the facts pointed to later. Lucy hadn't responded to and of Kat's letters, and the whole school seemed to know it.
Normally things like this wouldn't bother the small blond but this time it did. That night had been the fist time Kat had ever put herself out there. She was happy, almost felt really loved. But now.... now she felt used. Used and thrown away. Floating over to the center ring she slowed to a stop and climbed onto the structure, sitting, perfectly balanced on the top with her broom on her lap.
