For once, after such a bleak and gray winter, the clouds had seen fit to spread and reveal the sunshine and blue skies. Even the birds were chirping, albeit annoyingly, but they were at least making an appearance. Nicer weather had brought about a change in the air at Hogwarts, as well. Narcissa could tell there was less tension in the castle, students and teachers alike seemed to be relaxing and calming. The changing seasons had always been such an impressive feat for Narcissa. Though she didn't pursue it nor comment on what minor joy it brings to her, Cissa knew better. Admitting to something so trivial could very well be the end of her.
She had finished with her last class for the day, Care of Magical Creatures, and decided to take advantage of the decent outdoors. Instead of rushing into the Great Hall after class like so many of her fellow peers, Cissa was just content to roam the courtyards of the castle. It was different, taking walks during the day. Since returning to Hogwarts, Narcissa Black had become a savant at sneaking out of not only her dorm room, but the Slyhterin common room, the dungeons, and eventually the castle. Always in the dead of night, and always alone.
Narcissa enjoyed being alone at this point in her life. It was somewhat of a necessity for the young woman. Being around others, especially her peers, was more of a challenge than anything else. Cissa had begun isolating herself right around the time her father died. Besides, her interactions would have been one of two classic approaches. She would either pretend to be warm with someone until they parted ways again, or she would tease the other person mercilessly. Now, however, Cissa questioned the point of even talking to other people anymore.
People were liars.
This was the one universal truth that sadly, Narcissa had just been privy to. The knowledge had not only shattered her innocent ignorance surrounding both of her parents, but had caused Cissa to completely second guess her entire life. Unlike her sisters, who seemed able and willing to forge their own paths in this world without so much as a second glance, Cissa had always been sheltered, coddled, and definitely spoiled. She had been spoon fed a certain version of history, morals, and ideals that her family upheld, and she had never questioned it. Odd though, considering Narcissa challenged nearly every rule that aimed to stop her from having fun of any kind. Now, after her father's death and the truth being set free, Cissa found her world crashing down around her and with such force and no one to talk to. At least, not anymore.
