Dana sat at her desk, busily writing transcribing notes from the previous Quidditch check up that they had executed Puddlemere United onto a new piece of Parchment. The arse in the under-department hadn’t thought to use proper short-hand, so Dana was trying to sift through the report to pull out as many discrepancies as she could. What she had gotten so far? Apparently Puddlemere wasn’t doing too well financially, they were offering to up the number of season tickets that they sold so that they could get back on track, but the demand for tickets was so low that they were petitioning that the Ministry offer them extra funds for advertising and a spot in the Daily Prophet.
Blah, blah, blah. Dana sometimes wished that she would move up a little quicker in the ministry ranks. She wasn’t built to be a secretary - in fact, she had high aspirations to become an outstanding member of the Department of International Magical Cooperation...perhaps even eventually rise to the head of the Department. But that would be a long time coming. The only reason that she took the job in this department was because she had needed the in.
Yawning ever so slightly, she decided that she needed a walk. She was due for her lunch break anyway. She grabbed her jacket and threw it around her shoulders and then moved her way down the hallway, desperate to get away from Puddlemere United and their ridiculous petitions for money.
She stood tall - taller than the average woman - as she walked. Dana was all legs, tall and lean, like someone that had just walked off of a cat-walk. Sometimes it was a blessing. And other times? An absolute curse. People thought there was nothing going on in that pretty blonde head of hers, but that’s where they were wrong. Dana was actually pretty intelligent, and career oriented. She knew how to get what she wanted, even if it meant exercising a certain amount of physical appeal to get things done. She walked past the Head of Department’s office, only to see that the door was open. ‘Haven’t seen Gavin in a while,’ She mused, raising both of her eyebrows. The pair had been casually seeing each other on their days off - nothing serious, of course. Just a few nights back at her place. But then he just rudely dismissed her a couple of days ago. Since then she had been trying to ignore him, but she wasn’t really one for bad-blood...especially to her superiors. Leaning against the door frame of Gavin’s office, Dana knocked her knuckles against the wood and smiled at him, “Have some time to get a coffee, Gav?”tag: GAVIN CARTER JENKINS
