Mikael looked around the Trophy room, noticing all of the Quidditch champions and House Cups written on the trophies. He felt an immense amount of pride to be listed here with some of the greatest wizards and witches to every walk these halls. And he wondered if he or Lanta would ever be remembered the way these kids were one day. Would they make an impact that left its mark on this place? Of course none of that mattered at this moment, what mattered was him and her in this place. Right now. He smiled deeply as she tried in vain to speak through his hand, he laughed softly. Then he let her move his hand as she spoke.

Her response was everything he had hoped, totally her and of course she wanted to come. He was overcome with emotion and did something he hadn’t done since the day on the lake. He put his hands on her back and he kissed her. Softly at first and the stronger, all of the frustration they had felt over the last few weeks and especially tonight poured into the kiss. He was pretty sure he could do this forever, this felt right, it felt perfect. He held her close and never wanted to let her go. But of course he knew it would have to end, they had a lot to discuss, including the whole her parents separating them for god only knows what reason. He broke the kiss slowly, as much as he didn’t want to. He looked back into her eyes and smiled.

His mind traveled back to the day on the lake, it was one of the most random but most amazing day of his life. It felt like a lifetime ago but in this moment it felt the same. It felt exactly like life should and he didn’t want to go back to the way it was. To the real world where they had real problems, real drama and a real prefect looking for them. He opened his mouth to speak but he was unsure. “Was that okay? That I did that?” He laughed softly, keeping his voice down. It felt right, maybe the timing was bad but their timing always sucked anyway. So why would this be any different.

Atlanta knew that she had wanted to spend the holiday with Mikael, but she had backed down immediately after she had gotten the letter. Now that she knew that her parents had probably written it, it seemed to change a lot. She wasn’t as mad as she had been before - sure, there were some residual bitter feelings, but nothing like they had been before. Mikael hadn’t meant to hurt her and she sure as hell hadn’t meant to hurt him. She felt bad that she hadn’t been there for him when he really needed her, ”I mean you can’t honestly think that-” Suddenly Mikael was pressing his lips to hers and Atlanta felt the immediate jolt travel through her lips and down her spine. He was kissing her. And it wasn’t the timid kind of kiss that she had gotten on the lake - it was a real kiss. Instinctually, she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer to him.

And then, soon after it had begun, it was over. He asked if it was okay and Atlanta felt a blush rising to her cheeks - turning them pink. Of course it was okay, ”Yes-” She managed to squeak out and was suddenly glad that it was dark in here so he couldn’t see how very embarrassed she was. Immediately, she pressed a finger to his lips, silencing him because she could hear the squeak of shoes. The Prefect was nearby and she could only hope that they wouldn’t come looking for them in here...there was no escape if they did.

”I’m sorry I wasn’t around during the holiday and I-” Atlanta lowered her voice even more so that she was whispering. She knew that the Prefect was just outside the door and there was a danger that they could be caught, but she needed to tell him, ”I’m sorry about your dad.” She put her hands on either side of his face and then brought his forehead down so that she could plant a kiss right on the top of his head, ”I’ll make it up to you, eventually. I promise.”

She knew that this was a risky move and would probably result it her being benched for a couple of quidditch matches, but she let go of Mikael and then opened up the door, ”You stay.” She mouthed and then slammed the door. She walked directly into the prefect, ”Oye, sorry about the confusion mate I was out late practicing Quidditch and-”

”Vaisey, again?” The Ravenclaw Prefect looked down at her and frowned, ”Detention again, and I’ll be escorting you back to your dorm. You sure you were alone?”

Looking at the Trophy Room one last time and then back at the Prefect, ”Yessir, just me and my golden snitch.” She laughed slightly as she began to follow the Prefect back to the Hufflepuff common room.

Mikael could see a slight blush to her face even in the darkness as she answered him softly. Then he quickly felt her finger on his lips and he smiled. He heard it as well, the squeak of the shoes. You’d think someone who was in charge of security detail of a school would wear quieter shoes, like come on dude. He was still trying to wrap his head around that kiss. It was amazing and he could barely contain himself He heard her make him a promise and quickly kissed up on the head. He went to follow her when he saw her mouth for him to stay. He shook his head but she was gone.

He could hear the conversation carrying on in the hallway and he slowly slid down the wall he was pressed against. Smiling to himself he counted himself lucky, this was one of the weirdest nights of his life but so amazing at the same time. He was lucky to have that girl in his life and he didn’t think she needed to make anything up to him though he would be okay with whatever she had in mind. He heard the pitter patter of their footsteps as they walked away. He quietly got up and opened the door softly, then he took off into the night.
