Issac could feel his eyes growing heavy. Hailey was laying under his arm and Selene was net to her. it was dark out, and the TV had been tuned to something Hailey would like. Selene had been out most of the day, buying some food for Hailey and making arrangements with her school. She had told them that a family member had been very sick and Hailey would be gone for some time. Issac didn't want her to fall behind, but losing her again could be too much for him. he was on a fence, a massive fence that held the fate of not only himself, but his daughter and Selene. he looked over, the two women on his couch, way out here in the middle of nowhere. Selene had been so helpful, her true feelings for him he couldn't hep but return. She had a calming effect on him, but the looming threat of his other half still haunted his every step.
By now, Issac was having trouble keeping his head up. sleep was the time he was most vulnerable, he had less control, and if his mind wandered somewhere he didn't want it to, he could lose it. Perhaps it was the fact his daughter was here or maybe he had deviated too far from the path but Issac wasn't being as careful as he should be. leaning his head back he relaxed. Selene was reading a paper and before he could say anything he had nodded off to sleep.
It hit him like a bucket of water, a cold shiver ran down his entire body. fear wrapped icy fingers around his heart as he woke with a start. He had only been asleep for a few minutes, but it was enough to send him over the edge. he tried to keep his voice calm as it shook with terror and rage.
"Selene" He said, louder than he wanted to. The corners of his eyes had started to go black as he spoke. "Selene, Take Hailey into my room and do it now."
Selene looked over, his voice scared her. tendrils of black were creeping from his eyes and she knew what was happening. She nodded, frozen for a moment in surprise and fear. "NOW" he shouted. Selene scooped up Hailey as quickly as she could and ran for the room across from her.
