Solitude. That was all Adeline ever wanted now that she and Benji had broken up. She had already left the key she got for her birthday on the doorknob to the sixth year boys dorm, even with her hands full. Tray upon tray lay in her hands as she kicked open the door from Ravenclaw tower and made her way down to some sort of empty classroom. Surely butterflies didn't exist this time of year, but her brother Oliver was in much warmer climate and managed to gather a few exotic species. Bugs.
Four heavy trays were charmed to make light of the load, but a glass jar was sitting on top. Four magnificent beast lay unmoving on the bottom, but they looked as though they were in prime shape ready for pinning. Peaking in every classroom there was someone doing something and she wasn't exactly ready to face the world. So Adeline kept her head down and kept descending the stairs into the darkness. The dungeons. She wasn't exactly too fond of the situation, but she needed to be alone. The Slytherins left her alone well enough and she was prepared for anything. If anyone did decide to tempt her she would lash out almost instantly.
Finally an empty room. Looking in, green light from the lake fluttered in from the glass windows that kept the water at bay. Silence. Checking over her shoulder left and right, Addie pushed through the door and set down the trays in order to get to work. Benji didn't know what he was missing, at least that was what she thought. Ever since the day, she found it impossible to cry. Instead a numb and worthless feeling reeled up and took over, so like always she pushed it back and moved on with her day to day. Classes have been hell to get through and she's managed to skip potions the last two lessons just so she wouldn't have to see his face.
Her mother on the other hand had come back after the trial and was still at a loss for who was in her office at the time. Adeline wasn't ready to face her either and tell her. She could let Benji struggle by himself and tell her mum it wasn't worth it, but she wouldn't. It wasn't her business and she didn't care. Ben could have all the attention from her mother as he wanted, Addie frankly didn't give two shits.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips and she was lost in her work. Removing a glass partition opening the case and revealing one of the things she cherished more than anything else on the planet. Especially for the moment. Soon Adeline was so engulfed in her work placing the delicate structure of wings and bodies in place and pinning them down onto the black boards. She had no idea anyone had come in while she was working and when she looked up she nearly jumped out of her skin.
