HISTORY:
Jessica Brylinn Jameson was originally born to Maria Cabrera and Leonides Kent. She may have been born to them, but they never got a chance to be her parents. As it happened Maria and Leonides became potential parents at the age of 18. While most people would not think that is a big deal, Leonides’ pureblood parents would not stand for a muggle and a possible half-blood child in their family. They refused to let Maria see Leo, even going to the extent of moving back to England once the baby had been born and put up for adoption. It was put up for a sealed adoption, meaning Maria and Leo would never know who the new parents were and the adoptive family wouldn’t know who the biological parents were.

Jessie was adopted with in weeks by the Jameson family. Everything about how she was raised was perfectly muggle. Sure every once in awhile the brussel sprouts would mysteriously vanish or the broccoli would end up stuffed into the chimney, but that was normal of all children to not like the gross veggies right? It wasn’t until she was ten that something very weird happened. Jessie and Jay had been arguing over who would do the dishes that night after dinner. Jay said Jessie had to because he had a date with Katie Miles and mom had excused him from dishes so he could be home by curfew. Knowing she couldn't win, Jessie had stormed out of his room. She had just turned around with the intent of saying something else and then slamming the door when it slammed shut by itself. Her parents stormed up the stairs, yelling at Jessie that she could not go around slamming doors. She tried to tell them she hadn’t even touched the door, and a rather stunned Jay, opened the door and confirmed it, confusing everyone.
It wasn’t until Jessie turned 12 that those kinds of oddities started to make more sense. It all started one day when a raven flew in an open window and dropped off a letter inviting Jessie to move from Alabama up to Massachusetts to attend the Salem Academy for Magic. Well of course she and her family thought it was some weird joke, or maybe a scam, but by the time the eighth letter had arrived it had become rather annoying. No ninth letter and raven showed up, instead a representative from the school did. It took some convincing, but in the end Jessie’s dad put in for a transfer to Massachusetts so that his adoptive daughter could go to a school where she would learn magic.
Jessie had always felt like an outsider at school and now she knew why, because she was special. Of course that didn’t stop the kids at the school in Massachusetts from making fun of her for having glasses or being adopted into a pure muggle family. When she was 16 though, she really blossomed into a lovely young woman. Her parents finally got her the contacts she had been begging to get, and boys took notice of this new creature wandering the halls. Jessie wasn’t oblivious to this newfound power she had over boys and tended to exploit it whenever possible. She fell in with a rather rowdy crowd who liked to go out at night and spray paint ambiguous runes on the walls of subways and bus stations and the like. She didn’t know why, but she always signed her’s with a drawing of a blue bird.
While she became a flirt during her fourth year, that wasn’t the first time she’d had a boyfriend though. Tommy was her first boyfriend. They began dating when she was 14. She had heard all the rumors about him. How he usually had at least two girlfriends at one time, but Jessie didn’t want to believe them. She told the people telling her those things that if it was going to happen, she’d rather find out for herself then listen to rumors. For almost one and half years everything was perfect. He made her feel special, wanted, needed, beautiful for the first time outside of her family. The longer they dated however, the more controlling Tommy seemed to become. It frightened her, but Jessie was also afraid to break up with him because she didn’t know what he would do if she broke it off with him, but once she found out that he was still seeing his ex, Jessie took the plunge and broke it off. Pureblood Tommy couldn’t handle being dumped by a half-blood and began a mental barrage on Jessie trying to tear her down. It worked for awhile, but eventually, with the support of her family, Jessie turned herself around, but became a flirt in the process.
She stole a few boyfriends from other girls, not that she had to work hard at it or anything. What she did have to work hard at was almost all of her classes. There were a few years that she almost failed them. Not that she wasn’t smart enough, she was just more interested in other pursuits. There was one class she seemed to have a natural talent for; transfigurations. It was like second nature for the southern girl to pick up. She started seeing her transfigurations teacher after class in her third year to work ahead because she had started to get bored in class and her grades had started to drop off. When she was 16 and in her fifth year, she found out about animagus and began working on becoming one. She also got a couple of tattoos. One is a blue jay on her back on the left hand side right at her hip. The other is a Thunderbird.
I bet you are wondering, how does an American girl in a stable home come to be at Hogwarts for her last two years of school. It actually has to do all with her father. He was transferred in the middle of her fifth year to a base in England, but Caroline insisted that she and Jessie stay behind to finish out the school year and then they would join him in England. It took some doing and weedling, but they convinced the Ministry to let her transfer into Hogwarts to finish her last two years. This is her first year at Hogwarts, and Jessie has straightened up a bit. She not quite as flirtatious as she use to be, but still gets herself in trouble for it because let’s admit it; it’s fun. She has finally managed to get a last name out of the adoption agency, perhaps because they were getting annoyed by how much she called, or maybe their phone bill was becoming too high, but she now knows that her father's last name is Kent and that he lives in the UK.
Sorry this is so long. But I like background stuffs, and her’s is vastly different than last time I was here.
