GAVIN CARTER JENKINS
Twenty-One, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports, Ex-Gryffindor

Gavin is a well-mannered man. As a Muggleborn, he never expected to end up at Hogwarts, and had been forever grateful for the chance that he was given to attend. He was Sorted into Gryffindor during his time there, and had played on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team as Beater. Quidditch had been his absolute passion, and he spent forever at the Pitch. He knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, and that was play Quidditch. He enjoyed reading books, although mostly fiction, and therefore it wasn't like it helped with his studies all that much. It wasn't like he got bad grades, but he wasn't the top of his class either. He tried his best in order to make the most of the experience that he never thought he'd get, but Quidditch tended to take away from studying time. 

When he finished school, Gavin attempted to try-out for every Quidditch Team that he could think of. He got close so many times, but in the end he was cut, and with that so were his dreams. He felt miserable and like he had nothing anymore. People tried to cheer him up, but Gavin wouldn't have any of it. He would thank them for their efforts and even put a smile on for their benefit, but it had no effect.

Gavin took a job in the Ministry. At first it was just some administration job which paid okay, but he wasn't an administration kind of guy. When there was an opening, he got himself into the Department of Magical Games and Sports. He was still young - he had barely turned eighteen. He got just some typical job there, but soon had the chance to be assistant for the Head of the Department through his passion for his job. Unfortunately, a couple of years into it, the Head of the Department suddenly dropped dead at home. They said it was a heart attack, but for some reason Gavin suspected the Death Eaters. To his great surprise, he was promoted to Head of the Department. He swore it had to be a record - no one ever became Head of the Department at his age - he's only twenty-one! Shock hit him hard, but he was incredibly pleased, and his parents were proud, too. 

Gavin's a nice guy who just tries to do the best for people. He's not a pushover, but he wants to see people happy. He likes to read fiction, and tends to have a nose in a book when he has spare time. Gavin lives in Hogsmeade in a little house near the edge of town. He could have picked a place in London like most people in the Ministry did, but he wanted to be a part of a magical community. Besides, he always liked the small town feel, and Hogwarts had been so special to him that being able to look at his old school whenever he felt like it was nice. It was a good view. Besides, he could Apparate, it hardly mattered where he lived. He didn't mind the kids that swarmed the town every now and then. It wasn't like they bugged him any. 

Gavin doesn't have much patience for the whole Death Eater movement, especially as a Muggleborn. He gets very defensive any time it's brought up, and it's one of few times he might get rude on you. 

Gavin puts his all into his work, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have time for friends. He would probably have quite a few people who liked him as he's very polite. As for enemies, probably anyone who tried to talk Death Eater with him. He had a couple girlfriends in Hogwarts, but they didn't mean much to him, and he had a girlfriend when he first started working at the Ministry, but that didn't last past a year.
