Eddie walked the famliliar halls with a slow sort of purpose today. It was the sort of saunter that occurred around the end of a long day, where the saunter-er had only one thing left that needed to be done that day, and they weren't too keen on getting it over with. Tucked under the boy's arm was a small package wrapped in simple brown paper. It was a present, of sorts, if you could call it that. It was definitely a gift, but the boys wasn't sure that if calling the little 'thank you' and present was inappropriate or not. It seemed necessary. For being a his confident for the past few months, Eddie felt like Ms. Maude deserved a little thank you for all her hard work. He just wasn't sure if social norms dictated that buying presents for your councilor was taboo. he also hadn't quite nailed down if this which this gesture would be taken as- Courting, or kissing ass.
Nervously, Eddie found his way to the classroom Ms. Maude called her office. Truth be told, he had missed the place over the holiday break. He convinced himself that the sessions he had here were not a crutch, and he was mostly right. He didn't need them, he just felt better after them. It was amazing how at ease he was after a half hour or so of just talking. To have the chance to express his thoughts and feelings freely without any repercussions, or even without having to explain himself.... to just be able to be real and to not bother anyone in the process, it was all in all an unique and invaluable opportunity that he was grateful to have. He looked at the thick wood door as he approached it slowly, bidding his time, and raised his knuckles to the polished surface, rapping them firmly in a pattern. When he thought he heard a noise of approval from beyond the entry, he turned the brass knob and pushed the door in, slipping in quietly.
"Hellu? Ms. Maude? It's Eddie Muler; How are you doin'?"
