Slipping into his pajamas Sebastian grabbed his text books and went down to the main part of the common room. Flicking his wand a few times the lights around the couch illuminated, and the fire place roared with life and heat. Flopping down on the couch he sighed as he dropped his books on the coffee table. Pulling his Charms book onto his lap he sighed reading through the various chapters he needed to learn for the next class, his fingers following the instructions in the book, so much to learn in so little time. Sebastian realized that he only had a few weeks until he would starting writing his N.W.E.T's, no pressure, right? Sebastian was doing good in all his classes. Well, all except for Care of Magical Creatures. That was the one subject he struggled in. He could spend hours upon hours memorizing names, locations, how to kill or defend against an animal and none of it stuck in his head.

Throwing another log into the fire Sebastian sighed as he stretched. He had finished majority of his studying and homework. The only text book that was untouched was his Care of Magical Creatures. Giving a heavy sigh he sat down and stared at the detailed cover of the book. Part of his mind wanted to throw the damn book into the fire pit and skip the class for the rest of the semester, while the other part wanted to be the good student and study for the exam, probably fail, but give it the good ol' collage try. But.. it was late. The grandfather clock was chiming that it was half-past midnight. Why study late and be extremely tired for the exams when Sebastian could get a goods night rest and be more focused? But who was Sebastian kidding he was going to spend most of his night trying to study for his blood Care of Magical Creatures.

Looking through the text book he sighed heavily. It was hard trying to focus when his eyes were slowly falling. The fine print in the book began turn fuzzy. It wasn't long until the book disappeared and his mind began dreaming...

'You dare bring that beast into this house?!' Rob was screaming as he fired curses toward his sister and her were-boyfriend. Katherine ran from the dinner table to help her brother, Sebastian eventually did the same. The family shouted for them to stop. But it was too late. Amarilli had tarnished the family by brining her werewolf boyfriend to the Christmas dinner. Of course the four siblings were all evenly matched. As curses and hexes got thrown from Amarilli and her boyfriend towards Sebastian, Rob and Katharina the same was fired back towards the couple. But it ended shortly when their great-nonna ended it with one spell.

"Stop!" Sebastian jumped straight up, his book thrown to the ground as he panted softly. That Christmas had always haunted Sebastian. Panting he got up running his fingers through his hair. Walking to a bookcase Sebastian opened a secret book that had scotch in it. Taking it he sat back on the couch drinking at least half of it. Since that Christmas Sebastian had disowned his eldest sisters Amarilli wishing death upon her when she left the house, never to be seen again. Sighing he closed his eyes. His hand drifting to his hand as he heard creaking coming from behind the couch. "Who's there?" He asked, the tip of his wand illuminated with fire.

Eddie had woken up in the middle of the night cold and in sweats. It wasn't a nightmare that had gotten to him- no, cause that would be too easy. A slight lightheadedness told him his body had woken him not for mental issues, but for physical issues. Hypoglycemia, to be precise. And without the regular orange and can of tuna in reserve for such a situation, it seemed like the boy was going to have to make a trip. So, donning a a sweater and jacket over his flannel pajamas, Eddie slipped his feet into his slippers and plodded down towards the kitchen.

The trip down to the basement was a slow one. Eddie was taking things easy. He didn't want to end up passed out in the halls in his jammies; That would only make the teasing worse. Not that it mattered much anymore. Not now that he had a tight group of super groovy friends to call his own. The haters could run him up the flag pole for all he cared. At least now someone could come and get him down. The boy whistled a happy tune as he slipped into the kitchen, and sat down in a corner to tank up on some fruit and bread. After he was sufficiently snacked up, and the dizzies had dissipated, he brushed himself free of crumbs and hurried back upstairs where his warm bed waited for him.

"Come-on, come-on, come-on, come-on, come-on now touch me babe," the boy sang quietly, making his way through the riddle at the door with little difficulty. Despite this little fright he had woken up to, he was in rather high spirits. And if it wasn't for the fact he was surrounded by sleeping teens who would rip the throat out of anyone who dared wake them up at three in the morning, Ed would make a ruckus. Even so, he wasn't in the mood to go back to bed just yet, and he would probably spend sometime with a book or some dice before actually calling it a night in an hour or two. He walked through the commons in a rather up beat fashion, not noticing that the area was now lit up since he had walked through half an hour ago. He didn't even notice the boy on the couch, till he screamed at him.

"STOP!"

Being very good at obeying shouted commands, Eddie frozen in place, flinching only slightly at the sound of something hard hitting the floor. Silent and unmoving, Eddie watched as the brown haired brown walked away from him and to the book case. If he was going for ominous silence, it was working.... for the first two minutes anyways. After that, it just seemed long and drawn out and all of Eddie's attention was lost to the most menial of shiny and interesting things in the room. His mind started making up stories as he waited for the guy fiddling with books to do or say anything.

Maybe he saw a pixie going to throw a book in the fire? Maybe he didn't mean for you to stop? Maybe he's just crazy?

All good points, Me, He thought to himself with a nod, and loosened up again. He made to move for the stairs, humming gently to himself. But as the floor creaked, the student was on him again, this time, wand drawn and pointed straight for Ed.

"Who's there?"

Ed raised his hands in surrender immediately. He'd forgotten his wand on his desk upstairs and was in no position to do anything. "Ain't nobody here but us chickens!" The yank laughed anxiously, hoping he was just funny enough to not be cursed tonight. "I wasn't eaves droppin' are spying or anythin' like that, man, I swear! I was just comin' back from the kitchens. Was headed right on up to bed an-" He paused, noticing something metallic shining in the firelight, hidden in the book the student had pulled from the bookcase. "Wait... is that booze??"

"..... Can I have some, man?" He dropped his hands with a smile, stepping towards the kid.

Sebastian raised an eye when he saw the male come out of the shadows. Raising on eyebrow he slowly lowered his wand, dropping it onto the couch. "Shouldn't you be sleeping or something?" He asked lowering himself onto to soft cushion, his hand reaching for the bottle of scotch on the table. Pulling his textbook towards him he flipped open to one of his chapters that he marked. Closing his eyes he sighed as he heard the male ask for some of his scotch. "Erm...Sure. There's glasses over there." He pointed to the vase on the table that stood beside the grand bookshelf. "Under the vase." As he took a swig of his drink.

His eyes wondered along the male, he'd seen him before. Ya they were in the same house, but Sebastian didn't have classes with most of the kids in his house. Where did he see him? He'd seen him around the hallways, obviously in the Common room, great hall, all the big places. But he'd seen him in class..which class... "Erm, you're Edward, right? We take Care of Magical Creatures together ... I think?" Sebastian wasn't good with putting a name to a face. Taking another swig of he scotch he rubbed his eyes. "No, Edmur? Gods... Edwin! Edwin the American!" Sebastian smiled content that he had gotten his name right, finally. "Don't take that 'American' thing offensively. It's an European thing." He gave a small shrug as he stretched. Looking at the fire he tossed a few more logs, feeling the warmth fill the room.

Pulling his text book onto his lap he sighed. "Know anything about Care of Magical Creatures?" He asked softly. Sebastian hated asking for help, even when offered. It was the Italian side of him and the way he was brought up. Do it on your own. Keep failing until you succeed. In this case Sebastian didn't have time to keep failing. He only had a few months until his exams started and he needed to pass them with Outstandings. And if he didn't know anything about the subject, Sebastian had no problem flirting with the boy either.

Eddie laughed, letting go of all his nervous tension with the little action. Whatever had bothered the boy a moment before didn't seem to actually be Eddie's fault, and with that knowledge, he could relax and take it easy. He went for the vase like instructed and found the glass. he inspected it briefly in the fire light before grinning and crossing the room back over to the student where he held the glass out expectantly.

"Erm, you're Edward, right?" The statement made Eddie laughed. He loved when people guessed his full name was Edward. It was a logical guess, but he liked having the power of telling people they were wrong. of course, this boy corrected himself rather quickly which made Ed even happier, "No, Edmur? Gods... Edwin! Edwin the American!"

"That's the one!" he laughed, taking his index finger off his empty glass to point it at the boy in a confirmed fashion. " Edwin Muler! Not Edward- Edward's my father's name!" he chuckled, "It's just Eddie though. And no problem, man! I get it a lot, and it's true, so whatever. And you're, like, Sebastian, right?"

His eyes glanced over the book in the boy's lap, trying to steal glances at it to figure out what it was he was reading. It looked familiar, but from his angle, and the light of the flickering flames in the fireplace, he couldn't quite tell. Thankfully, the male moved the boy to give him a full look. "Good book!" He chuckled.

"Know anything about Care of Magical Creatures?"

"I know lots of things about Care of magical Creatures." he said chipperly as he moved around to sit next to the man and look over the pages in the leather bound book. "It's about the only thing I'm good at..." He trailed off as he started to read, lips forming the words on the page quietly as he went. "Why?" he asked once he was done, sitting back and stealing the flask from the boy so he could finally fill his glass. "You having troubles with somethin'?"

Sebastian eyed the male as he grabbed the glass that was hidden. He was definitely attractive, eye candy for Sebastian. Most males at the school were basically eye candy for Sebastian. Sebastian hated the period. Everybody who was gay was hiding. For Sebastian he had no problem, sure kids gave him a hard time, sometimes challenged him because he was a homosexual, but this was Sebastian's lifestyle. He loved men, he wanted to marry a man. Giving a small sigh Sebastian took a long swig of his scotch before pouring the male a healthy portion of scotch.

Sebastian smirked hearing that he had gotten his name right ... on the third/fourth attempted. At least he got his fathers name right, that's what matters, isn't it? "I like calling you Eddie of Edwin. But that's just a personal preference." Giving a small nod and a smile he took another swig. "Sebastian's the name." He smiled. "It's not exactly Italian but all my other siblings have good Italians names."

Leaning back Sebastian rested the bottle of scotch on the table and pulled the book on his lap. Hearing that Eddie was good at the class it brightened his hopes up just a little. "I'm really bad at class. It's actually the only one that I'm failing. I'm passing everything else with flying colors. But this is the one class that I'm utterly losing my shit in. I can study for hours on end in this subject and the day of the exam I'll literally forget everything. Truthfully we Italians wear animals ... not study them..."

He had tossed his textbook onto the table at some point and crossed his arms, his dark hazel eyes staring at the text book. He just wanted to burn the damn book. Burn it and never see it again. But when Eddie had suggested help a small fire light in Sebastian's eyes. He hated asking for help, mainly because he was a suborn Italian, but he was desperate. He needed help. Plus it meant some more one-on-one time with Eddie.

"If you don't mind ... I mean I'm sure you're busy and stuff, but if you could help me that'd be fantastic." He smiled.

Eddie laughed nervously at Sebastian's joke about wearing animals. Eddie was an animal lover by trade, and the thought of wearing any animal made his stomach knot. The term 'wearing animals' always made his mind jump to expensive things like alligator boots, and snakeskin belts and, hypocritically, not to the wool sweaters and leather belt he had up in his wardrobe upstairs. This was also the kind of kid that would argue that you needed meat to live. And, of course, that fact that many potion ingredients and magical creatures shared names had not made a connection in the thick boy's mind. So, really, killing animals wasn't a bad thing, but only an uncomfortable thought when it was convenient for the boy.

"Sure, I'd love to help." Ed shook off any feelings of discomfort and leaned out to pick up the boy's text book, thumbing through the soft pages gently. He knew most of the book pretty well, and still loved looking at every finely draw diagram and picture on the cream pages. "I mean, I was only having fever dreams upstairs, so it's nothin' I'm really looking forward to gettin' back to.

"Where are you havin' trouble?" the boy asked, cheerfully, bringing the glass of alcohol up to his lips for a sip- and then he froze.

Ed hadn't been anything of a drinker until he came to Hogwarts. The boarding school was full of underage drinkers and rum-runners, giving Eddie access to anything he wanted. And with his father being a muggle, there was NO WAY he was ever going to just barge in and catch him drinking with friends. So, understandably, Eddie had felt safe to explore alcohol and all it's wonders while in the castle halls. Whiskey had been the first alcohol he had tried, and after breaking himself into the burning sensation the drink caused, he had come to tolerate the sting for the buzz and hadn't ventured much further to try anything else besides beer. He knew he was safe with whiskey. He knew what to expect and he knew how to handle it. The caramel coloured liquor the boy had offered him had looked an awful lot like Whiskey.

Too bad it wasn't.

Eddie fought hard not to spit the large mouthful of drink across the room. It wasn't a pleasant drink at all! Nothing like he was expecting. It tasted like dirty water! Like bleached truck-stop stalls! It was murky, and woody and it made him shiver as he gagged it down. Worst of all, it was strong, and he felt it go to his head sooner than hit his stomach.

"Wh-what is this stuff?" He tried to sound appreciative and manly as he sputtered through the foul tasting liquid.

He casually drank the scotch like it was water. He'd gotten use to the taste of it. One thing he learned at Hogwarts was that it was damn near impossible for him to get wine, even with Joram making runs to Hogsmeade to get it. That and the wine never tasted like the wine he had at home. Everything was homemade and had been sitting for years upon years in the basement of the Armstrong manor; even more in their villa in France. Sebastian raised an eyebrow when he saw the males reaction when he drank the alcohol. Laughing he shook his head. "Sweetie it's Scotch. You're drinking it straight up of course it's going to taste like shit." Standing up Sebastian swayed his hips as he walked back to the bookshelf. Running his fingers along the books trying to figure out where he put the other kinds of alcohol . Pulling out A History of Hogwarts he opened the book pulling out a flask of whatever. Coming back he sat down beside the male plopping the flash ontop of the book he was reading. "I'm not sure what it is, it might be whiskey, it might be rum, gods only know I haven't touched it. But it might be better for you then what we're drinking." He smiled sipping his drink again.

Shaking his head he sighed. "I don't know. The whole subject annoys me. I don't get anything. The one thing I'm stupid at is learning about these animals. I don't see a point in learning about them if I'm not fighting them off on a daily bases, ya know?" Sebastian casually looked over at the text book not actually caring anymore. His mind pretty focused on the cutie that was beside him. Resting his against against the males arm he sighed looking at the print. "This stuff is just ... ugh..." He sighed. Taking another sip of the scotch he smiled lightly his head starting to feel fuzzy. His poison starting to take its effect on him. "Question, like a male-to-male question." He sat up a little, his eyes slightly droopy. "You're single, ya?" He smiled

"Scotch??" Eddie raised his glass and inspected the thing, first with a look, then with a sniff. It smelt very nostalgic- like the marshes in France when he was a kid. It wasn't a good smell, per-say, but it was an interesting one. Eddie's mind whirled with questions that would probably never be answered. One of which being 'if alcohol tastes so bad, why do we drink so much of it?'

"Is there anything that will make it taste better??" It was a far shot, the boy was sure, but it was worth a try. Sebastian went back to the bookshelf and produced another flask. This was another thing that surprised the boy. After having stolen a large amount of books for various reasons, why had he never found any alcohol in them?? It would have made his day to open a book and find a flask of alcohol in it. He'd have to remember this for a day when he ran out of booze. During the time it took Sebby to walk across the room and bring the new flask back, Ed had tried to drink the scotch twice more, but it really wasn't working. He offered his glass to Sebastian and took the surprise flask happily. "Cheers!" He took a sip of the flask and gave a firm nod. Whatever was in it, agreed with him much better.

"Umm.... alright..." Ed turned and lead over the book, curls falling in front of his face as he thought about how to come at the situation. Being helpful was something that came naturally with Ed. He had years of practice when it came to tutoring friends and younger students. He was sure he could find away the boy's mental block. "Well... why don't we start with Gnomes?" He tapped the back of his hand against the soft paper, pointing out the drawings as he downs a few smooth mouthfuls from the flask, "Most wizarding families have to deal with gnomes on a daily basis, so that might be useful to you, right?" he tried hopefully.

Eddie spent sometime drinking and talking with the boy, trying to get him to remember something about gnomes. He wasn't sure if it was working, but it was fun. There was a soft touch at one point, but the motion was small enough that it went straight over Eddie's head. The boy was as dense as a dodo, and about just as awkward. Any advancement from anyone, male or female, took millennia for Eddie to notice. Hell, it took a group of his peers and an intervention to get him to realize Caitlin was into him. So, when the boy started asking questions, Ed saw no intent behind them besides friendship. He looked up at the older boy with a pleasant, slightly fuzzy smile.

"Huh? Oh, no, actually!" he laughed, quite surprised to actually answer like that. He was pretty sure this was the first time he had ever gotten to tell someone he was spoken for! It felt good! "I'm dating a girl named Caitlin. She's a sweet little firecracker! Keeps me on my toes!" He turned his body a little so he could face the boy and leans back on the couch arm in a fashion that looked like it should have been uncomfortable, but the flexible, awkward boy made it work for him. "How about you? Got someone special?"

Swishing the alcohol around in the bottle he took another long swig. The room was starting to tilt just a little as he felt his head get lighter. Shaking it off, Sebastian sat up as he gently placed the bottle on the table and looked over the males shoulders. What was he talking about? Gods he had good looks lips ... What is he talking about?! Trying to focus on the tutoring session Eddie was giving him, Sebastian laughed softly. "Gnomes?! What ze hell is a gnome?!" He laughed standing up, stumbling lightly as his Italian accent grew thicker the more he drank.Truthfully Sebastian had no idea what a gnome was. Shrugging his shoulders he leaned his head against the male again sighing. "This stuff is utterly boring.."

When he heard the news about his relationship statues Sebastian smiled. "Awe. I'm sure she's a pretty good. Is she a good kisser? Is she crazy in bed?"He began asking these more personal questions as he took another long swig of his scotch. Standing up Sebastian stretched but started tilting to one side,stumbling a little as he giggled softly. Walking over to the pile of wood he threw in a few more logs. "I wonder who's the better kisser out of you two.."He teased softly as he bit his lip softly as he walked over to Eddie. Sitting on the coffee table across from him he smirked softly. Typical Sebastian, always found men who were in a committed relationship more attractive then the actual single men that were out there.But this was Sebastian. Whore of Hogwarts. Man stealer.

When he heard the remark about his own relationship statues he started to giggle softly. "Of course I'm single.You should know that." He smirked. "I'm use to men telling me how much they love me that night but get nothing the next morning. Eventually you learn to tell if a man is lying or not. And majority of these idiots are lairs...but it's good blackmail." He smiled leaning forward as he wrapped his hand around the flask Eddie was holding. Feeling the warmth from Eddie, Sebastian brought the flask to his lips as he took a swig. Looking up at Eddie his cheeks tinted red slightly as he slowly moved closer to the male, his other hand gently resting on his upper thigh as he pressed his soft lips against Eddies. Mentally he knew he'd cross a line, but physically, awe Hell to it. Sebastian was pretty damn content with what was happening!

"Uh... Gnomes are.... fae creatures, relative to hobgoblins and dwarfs..." Eddie looked up from the book to give the boy a strange look, "Seriously?? You don't know what a gnome is?" Ed laughed afterwards to make the comment seem less rude. He hadn't meant to be so brash with his question. Creature studies just came naturally to him. They had been the one thing he had researched extensively growing up, even before he knew things like dragons and unicorns existed. The excitement of knowing the secrets about something deadly of wondrous was a mental high for him. He took his knowledge for granted a lot of the time, and forgot that other students didn't always feel quite so enthusiastic about fire salamanders, and bogarts, and gnomes.

"This stuff is utterly boring.."

Eddie's lips turned down quickly, and his eye brows curved up in an expression of hurt feelings. "Well- no! It's not-!" He was quite ready to defend his favourite subject, but he decided against it. He had learned, over the years, that you couldn't really change someone's opinions. Not really. You could argue till you were blue in the face, but if they hadn't been perceptive to the subject before, they wouldn't be perceptive afterwards. He didn't waste words that way anymore. He let the boy believe the study was boring. He knew the truth: that killer animals with super powers were fuckin awesome!

The conversation took a turn for the personal, and Eddie found himself blushing as he looked down into his lap. "She's pretty good-"

"Is she a good kisser? Is she crazy in bed?"

Eddie laughed awkwardly. Sex- as much as he was fond of it- was not something he was good at talking about. With anyone. Even Cait could make him clam up like a bashful school girl when she said certain words. As it stood, Eddie was bright read now, and took a long swig of the whiskey, wincing a little, to try and cover his embarrassment, "She- uh.... she's pretty good... really good..." his eyes were focused on the flask where he kept running his thumb over the same edge of metal over and over. Keeping his hands busy was something the boy had to do when he was stressed or embarrassed. It was one of the reasons he was so good at guitar.

"I wonder who's the better kisser out of you two.." The tall boy asked as he sat down across from Ed on the coffee table.

Eddie didn't respond. His fuzzy mind had traveled to thoughts of Cait. His little Leprechaun. His bedtime warrior. The boy relaxed just at the thought of her. How a sweet thing like Cait ever wound up with a fuck-up like Ed, he would never understand. He was lucky to have her, and Eddie wasn't going to let her go any time soon. Not if he had any say in the way his life was going. Unfortunately for Eddie, he always seemed to end up Fate's fool. He had very little control over his own life, but had learned to ride the wild wave as it came. Sometimes he was on top- like he was with Cait- soaring through the high times without so much as a thought, sometimes he was under it, crushed with depression and situations that were just too much for him to handle. He always pulled through though, with a little help, and he never regretted any of it. Though he did have his moments where he wished he could have been a little smarter.

This was one of those moments. Sitting face to face with Sebastian, the boy was so close, he could smell the awful scotch on his breath. Eddie looked up at him with his big blue eyes and watched him as he spoke. "Men??" Eddie blinked, surprised by this outcome. He had not picked up that Sebastian was gay. It didn't bother Eddie in the least. Eddie had dabbled in the past. To him, a person's body, and what they had didn't matter. What mattered was their mind, and what they put in it.

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, man." He said sincerely and sympathetically, patting the man on the knee, "You'll find someone real one day. No more idiots, no more liars, I promise."

The flask was pulled out of his hand, and Eddie slowly looked up to watch the boy drink from it. He wasn't unattractive, Eddie thought, reaction time slowed from the alcohol. He was sure Sebastian was one of those guys the vast majority of society would deem 'sexy'. Ed didn't much worry about stuff like that though. He would admit that the man's eyes were lovely though, as they got closer and closer to him. Ed never saw what was happening, until he was tasting Scotch again.

Their lips locked, more than just in a shy way. It was the pressure and heat of a full on kiss, though it was rather one sided; from Ed's side, he did nothing but stare in shock and try to get his mind to catch up to what was going on. It took too long. The kiss lingered on Eddie's lips after he finally pulled back slowly, cursing himself mentally, knowing he had somehow committed two sins: He had lead the boy on somehow, and worse yet, he had just cheated on Cait.

"Woah..... uh..." All colour that had been in Ed's face a moment before had vanished, and he was now ghost white with realization and dread hanging over him like the thick cloud of scotch vapour on Sebby's lips. "Sebastian.... I'm flattered.... but..." He reached down and gently lifted the boy's hand off his thigh, wondering how he let that get there in the first place. Shit. He was tipsy. This wasn't good.

"...But, I have a girlfriend." he sighed, running his hand through his mess of bedtime curls, "Look, you're a real nice guy! And in another time, another reality, we could have maybe been something. Heck! I would have been tempted to go out to a bar with you or something just a few months back! But.... Caitlin and I... we're something special. And I can't hurt her like this." He smiled softly, trying to get the boy to understand without hurting his feelings.

"Where's your room, huh?" He patted Sebby firmly on the knee and went to stand up, steadying himself on the arm of the couch, "We should get you to bed... you're pretty drunk, I think."
