There was a gasp as Caitlin sat straight up in bed. Not often did a dream rouse the girl into consciousness. Normally she was a very hard sleeper and proved to be difficult to wake even in the morning after a good nights sleep. Sitting up now in the middle of the night cold sweats running all over her body, Caitlin breathed heavily. Her lids fell shut only a split second as she blinked her bright grey eyes, as if determining if this was life or a nightmare. The dream that haunted her slumber that evening was a concoction of her purest terror all balled up together. Rabbits. On Broomsticks. It was the most horrifying sight she could imagine that wasn't something absolutely grotesque. What was worse, that smug ass Easter Bunny was soaring over her head, his cotton candy colored bow tie and pastel vest a sickening compliment to his unnatural lavender eyes. His fluffy little tail seemed to twitch with glee as he hurled beets down on her. Caitlin normally said she didn't like beets (an irrational and flat out lie) and having them thrown at her was worse than eating them. Just as the Easter Bunny was nose-diving down on her, the girl jolted awake.
Now her tank top and shorts clung to her hot skin while she tried to sort out her head. She was in bed. There were no rabbits. Not a soul was here. Shaking her head, Caitlin threw back her covers and stood on half awake legs. Her bare and bony feet made a pattering noise on the cold stone floor as she very quickly made her way out of the girl's dorms. The world as well as her actions had hardly become entirely coherent to the girl, but her instincts were guiding her to her safety. Crawling first out the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room, and then making her way up the stairs one by one, Caitlin began her journey to the comfortingly familiar tower. Her eyes still burned as the riddle nearly stumped her.
"I run over fields and woods all day. Under the bed at night I sit not alone. My tongue hangs out, up and to the rear, awaiting to be filled in the morning. What am I?"
"Ehh..umm..Oh Bullocks...Uhhh.. Oh! It's a bloody sneaker! Lemmy in!"
She'd forgotten sneakers herself, as well as a jacket and was chilled to the bone now; her teeth chattering in the silence of the Ravenclaw dorms. The riddle had made this now painfully aware as she wiggled her icicle like toes and wrapped her cold arms around herself making her way to the year 6 boy's dorms. Everything was silent and still. It was about five in the morning and most of everyone would sleep for another five hours considering it was now Saturday morning. However, for one lucky boy this was not going to be the case. Cait crossed quickly to Eddie's bed where she found him tangled in all the bed sheets, legs going in different directions while his arms cradled a pillow to him tightly. His mouth hung open as he drooled peacefully in his slumber.
It almost felt wrong of her to wake him at this point. He looked so content. She, on the other hand, was not. Cait was cold, half awake, and still very shaken from her awful dream. Stretching her leg out, Cait kicked him lightly on the posterior. "Eddie...pssstt...Eeeeddds.." She whined his name watching for his soft eyelashes to flutter open. Finally she managed to wiggle her icy cold foot under the blanket and between his warm thighs in an attempt to shock him awake. "Eddie.. wake up. I need you!
