His family never treated him as important, because he was the middle child. they always felt he was a disgrace because he was less self centered than they were, and this drove him to be cold hearted. He has always wanted to prove himself to be powerful, and be well respected.

( PERSONALITY ) : Lucius tends to be overly confident and arrogant. He struts about with good posture, and a devilish boyish smirk upon his face and likes to cause issues for anyone who stands in his way. He takes pleasure in bragging about his wealth, and being in Slytherin just as most Slytherins tend to do. However, he takes it to an extreme at times, and has gotten countless detentions for picking on first years of other houses and pulling horrid pranks during potions classes. His conceited attitude and witty sense of humor sometimes does work to his advantage, especially when it comes to some women, and he will act like a charming gentlemen when it involves the opposite sex. He is especially rude and arrogant towards certain bloods - mudbloods and halfbreeds - of the like, and he will do anything in his power to make them all feel lame and inferior.
He is very intelligent, but does not act like it in a classroom setting. He doesn't like to brag about the fact that he is better when it comes to academics, instead does this quietly, and by his own strategdy. He is the type of student who will do well in school, but cause chaos for his teachers and problems with other classmates. His arrogance makes him a class clown, but his determination and desire to excell gives him the ability to actually care about school. The guy loves reading and writing, and likes to hear about other people's lives. Louie is the type who knows he can learn new things everyday, and strives to obtain as much information as possible. He finds other's hardships to be interesting stories even if he doesn't exactly give a damn about their feelings. Chances are he will listen to gain more information about life in general, and then later on he will use these things against them.
Lucius is a very headstrong young man. In fact, his stubborness is his blessing an curse. He does not care about other people's opinions or their adivce even if it could benefit him in many ways. He likes to do things his way or the high way. This tends to make it difficult for anyone to sway him from his path, because his stubborness makes him a strong believer in whatever decision he has or has not made. Good or bad. He is also a man who likes long intellectual conversation and debates, and he will always declare his point of view as the proper point of view. Even if it is morally wrong. His stubborness also gets him into trouble at times because he enjoys a good game or challenge, and he will not back down even if it may be something that could harm him or a loved one.
Undernearth the arrogance and hard confident shell is actually a man who is extremely self conscious and sensitive. He will never show it to others, but he does feel hurt when certain things happen to his family or something is said about him. At the end of the day he will sit and write about how he feels, and will never talk about such feelings to even his closest friends. He does not like to feel vulernable and weak in their eyes. He became this way because of how his family use to treat him, as if he were worthless, and a disgrace to the name of Malfoy. His conceited side and rude behavior is how he hides all this, and usually makes the wrong choices in his life by doing so. .

( HISTORY ) : The Malfoy's have always been a proud pureblood family, who have all been in Slytherin house, for those who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcrat and Wizardry. Lucius Aaron Malfoy was born October 9th, and received his Hogwarts letter as every student does when they become of age at eleven. His sister had graduated from the school, but later had gotten married behind their parents back to a half blood who had been in Ravenclaw house. Lucius's parents had banished her from the family, and then they took their anger out on him. His sister had been a brilliant girl and excelled in everything she had done, besides the one marriage fluke, and what their family considered betrayal. Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy expected a lot of Lucius and were always hard on him so he would not make the same mistakes his sister had. They treated him cruelly always discouarging him in hopes that it would make him want to do better. Sadly, this made him never feel good enough for him family, since he was always compared to the success and faults of his elder sibling.
Once at Hogwarts Lucius wanted to make something of himself. He did his best to excell in his studies, but also to be a charming and proud Slytherin just as his ancestors and immediate family had been. He did whatever he could to show his importance at school since he never received the proper encouragment and positive feedback at home. Hogwarts was his home now and he wanted to basically feel popular and important at the school, mainly to his peers, and he wanted to be respected. there were times where he never wanted to leave Hogwarts for the holidays because this was the one place he felt powerful, and confident in himself. Lucius was always watchful of his younger brother, and taught him anything he had learned at school. He wanted to his brother to look up to him just as he wanted people at school to admire him and respect him to a certain degree.
Despite his insecurites and his family being condescending, Lucius lived a luxurious life. His faily was extremely wealthy, and was always able to afford the best supplies and materials for their children. He loved naterial things and never hesitated to show such possessions off whenever given the chance. His family lived in a beautiful manor, with large acres, and always had parties growing up with neighbors and family friends. Anyone who was not wealthy he had always thought to be scum and mudbloods who did not deserve to even be in his presence, let alone go to the same school as wizarding families. Regardless, of how his family lived and the way they treated him they were at least happy and not surprised he was sorted into Slytherin. .
