It had been a long, shit day, and Alecto was glad it was over. She had endured a day full of lessons, and she hadn't been able to get away with skipping a single one of them. The one interesting one was Defence Against the Dark Arts, but one hour with Professor Riddle hadn't been enough to make up for the several mind numbingly boring hours she'd had to sit through. It had been cold, grey, rainy day, and Alecto had shivered through most of her classes. She was more than ready for a warm chair by the fireplace in the Slytherin common room. She ate dinner with Amycus. Alecto wasn't in the best of moods, and there were very few people she would tolerate when she was in a mood. She was more likely to snap than sulk. But she was usually happy to tolerate her twin. She had collapsed heavily into the seat beside him with a grunt of greeting, before pulling food towards her. The twins didn't need to constantly chatter, which was lucky because Alecto was starved, and barely paused between mouthfuls of stew. As a result she finished miles before Amycus, and the common room fire was calling her. Rather than wait for him, she told him she'd see him in the common room that evening.Picking up her bag, Alecto swung her legs over the bench and started making her way towards the dungeons, thinking, and not for the first time, that they were far too far away from everything, with too many stairs. But, despite what people may think, the common room was comfortable and pleasant on a day like today. They had windows that looked out into the lake. With the storm outside picking up the water would be unsettled, moving rhythmically against the glass. The chairs were luxurious, and the fireplace was huge. It was thinking of this, with a slight smile on her face, that Alecto roughly shoved a first year girl out of her way as she walked through a gaggle of them gathered outside the great hall. Finally, Alecto made it to the dungeons, and after giving the password she entered the Slytherin common room. Most people were still at dinner, so it was largely empty (not that that would have mattered; Alecto would have gotten a seat one way or another. Usually just the threat of the hell there would be to pay was enough for Alecto to get what she wanted). She looked towards the fireplace, and saw a familiar dark head sitting on the large green velvet sofa directly in front of the fire. Alecto walked over to Rodolphus, and dropped her bag on the floor, before dropping herself onto the sofa next to him. She leaned her head back, and closed her eyes."If I have another day like that any time soon," she said, her eyes still closed, "kill me."
