He walked the isles of the library in amazement. Looking at the plethora of books and text Zander moved quietly through the shelves looking for a place to sit. The library was surprisingly busy for a Saturday, the new student had figured that with it being a weekend most of his peers would be relaxing. Having only transferred to Hogwarts a week earlier Zander was very behind in his classes. He had decided to spend the day in the library to try and catch up. Apparently most of the student body had decided the same thing.
Carrying all this textbooks and pile of parchment in one arm, and a quill and ink bottle in the other, the boy scanned the room for the best place to study. Knowing that he was easily distracted Zander hoped to find a place that was secluded and private. As he wandered around trying to find an empty seat, he found himself scanning the shelves for a book he might want to read later. The Gryffindor loved to read, not academically mind you, he enjoyed adventure and mystery novels the most. Finding nothing he liked on the shelf he was beside Zander continued his search for a place to study.
Rounding the last bookshelf he was starting to give up hope, but then he laid eyes on the perfect spot. A small corner desk. Tucked away, in a dimly lit corner of the library, away from all the distractions of the other students. Zander smiled and made a b-line for the desk. As he walked he adjusted the textbooks and paper in his left arm. The books were heavy but Zander had no problem supporting their weight. The problem was that the books were all different sizes making them a very awkward load to carry.
He made his way down the isle of desks on the back wall of the library. Just as Zander approached the corner seat, a student in front of him pulled out a chair to sit. Thinking quickly Zander swung around him with a spin, losing his balance a little as the books he was carrying shifted. Adjusting quickly, Zander caught his balance and spun forward again. Thinking he had avoided the crisis, the boy sped up again still trying to reach the corner desk before anyone else. The problem only problem with that, was that he didn't look to see where he was going as he moved toward the desk Zander walk straight into a girl. The momentum of the collision caused the boy to drop the books he was holding as the poor girl was almost knocked over.
As the books landed with a loud crash on the floor and all of Zanders parchment went flying, the boy reached out and took the girl by the arm trying to steady, and prevent her from falling. "I am so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going. Totally my bad! Are you okay?" Zander spluttered, looking over the girl to make sure he hadn't hurt her, embarrassment smeared across his face. Letting go of the girls arm he tried to smile at her.
