Remus loved Thursday afternoons. He had a free period at the end of the day and used this valuable time to run down to the prefects bathroom before the others got there. It was typically very quiet and he could easily enjoy a nice soak alone. So when the bell rang out through the school at half past one in the afternoon, Remus bounded up the steps to the Gryffindor common room and then into his room, grabbing his bag of toiletries. As soon as he'd come, Remus was gone again and making his way quickly to his sanctuary for the afternoon.

The boy took his time getting settled in and ran the water while brushed his teeth, and checked himself out in the mirror for a while. He wasn't amazed by what he saw but with a shrug he accepted that he wasn't repulsing. Wrapping a robe around his nakedness, Remus pulled out a book and flipped through the pages a while, speed reading through a chapter or two, trying to memorize bits as he went. There was a History of Magic midterm coming up and Remus was not very keen on failing it. But once the water was high enough he cast all these things aside and slipped into the piping hot water and bubbles.

The aroma of the suds made his eyes heavy as he sank lower into the bath, wetting his hair. His fingers raked through it as he sat up and leaned against the edge. This was just what he needed to talk the edge off. They were leaving for the winter holidays soon and the lads had all agreed to go to Italy together. It was supposed to be good fun and Remus was actually looking forward to spending time in a new country. The culture interested him and he was excited to be able to envelope himself in it for a short period of time. Just as Remus was beginning to think up a list of things to pack in his head, well ahead of time as usual, he heard the door crack open. It didn't bother him any, not now that his scars and other bits were hidden.

His eyes cracked open however and he spied an all too familiar face. It was the smug visage of Sirius Black. "Oh... Why hello there." He hadn't been expecting to see him, but couldn't honestly say he was disappointed to see the boy. "Come on in... the waters fine. Remus laughed and closed his eyes again going back to his happy place of relaxation.

Sirius had been having a hell of a day. Quidditch had run a little late and his muscles were sore and throbbing from the intense work out. The smell of sweat lingered on his skin as he pushed through the door to the prefects bathroom after muttering the password Remus had let him know. Looking upon the boy who was relaxing in the bubbles, Sirius' lips curled into a very smug grin. Within an instant the boy let his guard down, looking up on the glorious image of Remus Lupin. There was no one here and he didn't need to keep his guard up. Instead he set down his pack on a chair, whipped his wand and made certain no one would be able to get through the door, let alone hear what was going on.

Looking at himself within the long wall of mirrors, his long black hair had been disheveled and soon he removed his shirt. It was a slow display as a bruise had revealed itself along his right rib cage. All he needed was a long soak and this was the only place he could think of that would help ease his pain. Now that he knew Remus was here. Sirius knew that he would be better in no time. "Hello Sunshine." Sirius had a reserved nickname for Remus, if they were waltzing around the halls he would have called him Casanova, only Remus knew what he called Rem behind closed doors.

Soon his pants lay on the stone floor and his shoes cast away. Trying to hide himself from view Sirius slowly yet eagerly slipped into the bath next to Remus. The water was warm and he could feel the muscles in his legs slowly relax and ease into something much more amazing. Letting his head lull back against the lip of the tub, his grey eyes moved to look at Remus. To actually study the boy. Sure enough he could feel himself harden. Sharing the same bath was something they did often, but half of the time the rest of the guys were around. Not today.

In public Sirius had a different way of showing affection, not here. Sirius could be himself and he didn't need to pretend to be the flirt all the while. He wanted Remus to know how he felt, but just the image of the man half submerged by water crossed his mind and made him forget everything that was bothering him. "The water is better than fan." A genuine smirk crossed his lips as he looked over at Remus, stretching out his hand, Sirius brushed back a few stray locks of hair from his partners face.

Remus watched the boy undress. He was a fit lad, and no doubt fresh from practice. The bruise on Sirius' rib mare him lick his lips. It meant he'd worked hard and while Remus didn't want to see him hurt, the thought of him on a broom, muscles flexing, was all too pleasing. There was a smile that crept onto his face watching him dip into the water. The pair had a private fondness for each other. Boyfriend. Remus believed was the term. Of course it sort of broke his heart to keep their relationship a secret from the world.

On the other hand a hidden love was tense and erotic. The sneaking, the innuendos, the otherwise undetected undertones. All of it gave him a slight sense of thrill. An added excitement to an already enthralling romance. A tingle ran down his neck as Sirius brushed back his hair. "And it just got better." Smirking was inevitable and Remus couldn't stop grinning at him. His long arms stretched out along the edge of the tub and around the other boy's shoulders.

"How was practice?" He was careful in the way his fingers grazed against the skin of Sirius Black's shoulder. Sure he was strong and the two would be pretty decent sparing partners, but Remus somehow felt like he could break the boy. "I'm glad you remembered to meet me here. I've missed you. I've missed alone time." His smile was soft as he swirled the bubbles around to hide himself a bit. The scars were a bit embarrassing but there were other things under the water level that Remus didn't want to give away right out of the gate. It wasn't so much that he'd be embarrassed of his excitement over his own boyfriend. Remus was just considerate enough to first gauge where Sirius was at mentally first. Besides, they hadn't actually done the deed yet and he was unsure where they how they were to go about it. Were they ready for something like that? Who was top or bottom? Sex was so complicated, Remus felt like it should have been easier.

Taking in a deep breath Sirius just relaxed into the sudsy water and glanced over at Remus after the touch. A smile crossed his lips. Alone was something Sirius liked to be, but alone with Remus J. Lupin was something he loved. "I'm sure it did." A smirk crossed his smug mug as he spoke, but there was something else in his tone. Care. Sirius wasn't normally one to show that he cared. He had mates and that was good enough for him, but when it came to Remus he was completely the opposite. Sirius loved to be wanted and when he was alone with Remus he was feminine, caring, soft around the edges. The bad boy look was dropped completely.

Pushing his hair back a shiver ran down his spine as the other boy's fingers traced his shoulder. "Practice was rough, Capt has us working hard and I had to fill in for a chaser. Got nailed by a bludger and now I feel bad for the other team when I'm playing as a beater." Tilting his head back against Rem's arm; Sirius looked up at the high ceiling and took in another deep breath letting the day catch up to him and escape. "I miss alone time too, we should do this more often. Once a week isn't enough and I really do like bath time with you."

A giggle melted from his lips and he stole a glance at the other Gryffindor boy before letting his hand rest on Rem's stomach. "I don't think I've ever said this to you before, but I love you." Sirius sunk a little in the suds and let his head rest on Remus' chest, just in the nook of his shoulder and collar bone. "I love you so much." Placing a small kiss at the base of the other boy's neck, Sirius grinned up at Rem urging him on.

The boy wasn't entirely sure how to handle the words that were now floating on the air. Not only had they never been spoken by him, they'd never been spoken to him either and what to do with them he wasn't certain. Did he say them back? Should he take them to heart? If the circumstances had been any different he might have laughed and joked and just shrugged the entire thing off. But Sirius' approach was so genuine doing anything an act like that would make Remus a total dick head. Something he was most definitely not. So that left him with accept it as true and respond appropriately. But what did he say?

Love was a fickle and tricky thing. He'd seen so many people "Fall in love" and then fall just as easily out and it always ended up messy. He was sure he didn't want this to be messy. Remus Lupin very much cared for Sirius. It was the label, the expression, the honesty, that scared him. Being so raw and outright with it. And then there was the little kiss lingering on the skin of his neck. His hot steam moistened lips tingled on his flesh and made the little hairs at the back of his neck prick up, standing on end. "Sirius....I just...." An involuntary chuckle came from him as he nuzzled his head into the kiss.

The second his brain made up the decision to let the boy down gently, he regretted it. The upside if this, was that he hadn't verbally committed to the decision just yet and had plenty of time to recover it and steer this in the right direction. And really it wasn't like he didn't love the boy. It was more a case of uncertainty. Labeling this felt permanent. Solid. And while every fleeting secret second with him was magnificent, and he wouldn't trade them for the world, he was very scared. So with a sigh and a smile, Remus looked down at Sirius Black, "I know, Sirius.... I know. And if I felt like I could define my feelings in words... I'd give you hundreds of them.. But I just don't think there are enough of the appropriate verbiage." His smile was laced with the hope that that would be good enough for his companion.

He knew it would end up like that, he always had known and Remus had always been so coy and quiet about what was really going on. Normally Sirius would have been all over him in a 'LOVE ME' sort of behaviour; this was totally different, this was Remus Lupin. The man who had whole stole his heart. Inside Sirius should have been hurt, deep down in those organs and feelings he should have felt guilt for splurging the words out loud in the privacy of this bathroom. No one heard them except for Remmy and he wanted to keep it that way.

Soon Remus' voice filled the air with something that meant a little more to him than a simple 'I love you too'. Sure he wasn't exactly saying it but the beautiful words that escaped from his roommates lips were impeccable, magical and even more than he could have asked for. Siri knew that he caught Rem off guard and soon he was stumbling and fumbling for words to reciprocate with. Something that Remus had always been good at. Grey eyes moved up the other boy's sternum and he smiled giving a warm laugh. Hand catching Rem's jaw and tilting his head down toward Sirius' own.

Silently his lip collided with Rem's, just a small peck, nothing more. "Remus, sunshine, it's okay." Giving his roommate another one of his goofy grins and eased his shoulders in a slight roll finding his place against the sixth year's body. "It doesn't matter right now, I just had to let you know how I feel." Lifting his foot out of the water watching the dirt slip from between his toes and a huge smile spread across his lips. "You're so.... clean in comparison. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. You know, werewolf and all. I suppose being a mangy mutt can account for how filthy I get. Don't you think?"
