Skye opened her eyes to greet the annoyance of the sun. She had always had problems with the brightness of the sun. It hurt her eyes because they were so light and so she choose to stay away from it most of the time. She wore sunglasses when she had to be outside and it was what the doctors had said she should do if she wanted to keep what little site she had in her right eye anyways. However, her eye was burning this morning and she flipped over trying to bury her head into her pillow a little more so she wouldn't have to get up and face what the burning usually met. There were very few people who knew her considerably well that knew about the reasons for her wearing an eyepatch from time to time. Others could guess and no one actually knew the full story behind it. That was something that was just not talked about. Her comment to those that knew her was sometimes her eye bothered her too much to be used properly so she put a patch over it so she could actually get through a day without a headache or something. She always had a story that would get her away from having to tell the complete truth about the scar she bared and about her eyepatch. Some people just thought that it was cool.
She finally rolled out of bed because she really couldn't go back to sleep. She walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower, taking of her clothes and jumping in. She loved the warmth that a nice hot shower gave someone in the morning. She washed and got out of the shower. She got dressed quickly after drying off and headed over to her trunk to pull out eye drops. She knew very well that she wouldn't actually be able to do this part on her own with the first go at it. Sometimes she would walk up to the Hospital Wing and Madame Pomfery do it or ask her head of house to do it. She was though in the mood to try a half a dozen times to get the drops in. The first two attempts only cause her to want to scream out in annoyance and slight pain. Then finally she got the drops in willing her eye to stay open. With that done she placed her eye patch over her eye and tied it behind her head. That was it but from the way that it was still stinging with the meds in it and the fact that she was getting a headache. Today was just going to be one of those days.
She walked down to the common room once she was satisfied that everything was in working order. No one would be able to stand on her right side without her jumping down their throat or jumping sky high because the freaked out by being in that blind spot. She shrugged it off determined to work through it all. She sat down on the couch and thought about going to get some food. She was half wondering why the common room seemed to empty and quiet but it was early so she should have expected it.
