The sun was warm , but the air was cold. Eddie Muler lay in the middle of the courtyard outside that connected the north end of Hogwarts to the East. The boy was on his back, hands knit over his belly, starting up at the sun and falling snow, as groups of people diverged around him on their way to class. He had been laying there for a while now so that snow had started to pile up on his body, and his wild hair was full of the flakes. He had caused a bit of a disturbance when he had just stopped in the middle of the morning crowd and decided to lay down in the new snow. A few younger, and caring students had asked him if he was alright, and if he needed help or needed to go to the hospital wing. Eddie had just shook his fluffy head and told them he was fine. Lots of people gossiped about his strange behaviour from the edge of the courtyard, and made no point of trying to hide their words. Eddie had second thoughts about his actions, figuring they were maybe too soon after the whole whole dining room incident, and that what he was doing now would make even more people think he was crazy, but he didn't care. He was too comfy now anyways, he couldn't get up if he wanted to. And maybe he was just tired, or maybe it was hypothermia setting in, but he soon found himself sleeping in the plush snow.
He dreamt on and off for a while, the noises of people around him always pulling him back to to earth. he sighed quietly and watched clouds float quickly over the sun through his eyelids. He enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his face. It made him think of Cait. It made him smile. of course, when the sun disappeared, and it got cold, it made him think of the fight.
He couldn't believe people most of the time. How could people draw lines over things as trivial and meaningless as blood, or race, or creed. They were uncontrollable, and just fractions of what a person really was! It was a scape goat for other people's problems, a mindless alternative to actually having to take control over your own life! Instead of blaming themselves for their fears or weaknesses or problems, they used petty differences in history to tear worlds apart. They didn't even bother to get to know a person before they labeled them as incompetent or inferior. Racism... blood purism, was the lazy mans way out of thinking.
Aw man, he was suddenly feeling full of creativity! Eddie wished he had brought his journal with him; it would have been an easier creative outlet than having to get up from his cozy spot on the cobblestone walk and having to actually do something. Eddie had a way with words, though that way wasn't always very smooth, or even comprehensible. He was a musician at heart, and loved writing poems and songs. But unlike most artists, he strayed away from topics like love, and focused on bigger issues, like war, power, dominance, and rebellion. they were topics he had been involved in since he was little, and he understood them better than 'love' most of the time. Besides, who wanted to hear a guy babble on and on about 'the girl that broke his heart' for twenty different songs?
"The time is now... our time has come..." Eddie mouthed out words softly, trying to find the right rhymes for what he was feeling. "No matter what they say or they don't say,We make a way out of no way..." Anger, but not uncontrolled and blind like it had been recently. "In aftermath of blight errors, blood type and marrow to the bone oaths..." No, he had found his target, and he was ready to pierce it the only way he knew how. Wait till Benji heard this new master piece! He shook his head, and sung loudly.
"Show us how to Party at the protest! Rally like a rockstar!"
