Eddie squatted down near the frog, knees coming out to the side of his body, hands raised out in front of him, giving him the overall appearance of a crab on the prowl. He pushed off one leg, to the other, creeping slowly towards the frog. Eddie was a frog hunting extraordinaire! He had learned much of his skill while living in southern France when he was six. He spent in his days in the marshes behind the house, wading knee high in the muddy water, collecting buckets of frogs, just for something to do in the hot sun. He had named them, and protected them from snakes, and raced them with his brother. And then dinner would come, and they would put frog legs on Eddie's plate, and his brother would salt them, making them dance, and Eddie would cry. He was a sensitive boy, and as such he didn't like things dancing on his plate.
"I'm not gonna harm you." Eddie said softly, scooping his hands down under the cold frog and picking it up gently. Too easy, he smirked. the poor things were so close to hibernation, they really didn't have enough energy to run from everything. Moving slow enough was all it took to make sure they wouldn't leap. he closed his hands around the frog, and brought it up close to his face. "ooooh... you're a beauty." he purred, looking the frog over quickly before figuring the little thing was a male. He shrugged his shoulders and smiled at the thing, "well, a prince Charming ain't bad either." He held the thing tight and gave it a quick kiss, before heading back to the camp fire.
He heard the ruckus before he had even got there. "Benji?....BENJI?!Where the bloody hell are you, mate!"
"Benji?" Eddie asked the air, looking around in confusion, "GOD DAMN IT BOY! What did I tell you about hypothermia!" his attention was diverted from the frog, and it jumped from his hands. After some quick juggling, and nearly falling over, Eddie got the thing in a death grip. He sighed in relief, then turned back to the situation at hand, holding the frog as close to his body as possible.
"Benji! Where are you! Speak to me boy!" he raced around the immediate area, trying to find any clue of his friends disappearance.
