This was probably the hundredth time Charlotte had read over the contract, clutched gently between the grasp of her dainty fingers. Her instructions were both clear and concise, and the reward was more than befitting to the task, if she could manage such a delicate responsibility. The dark ink which detailed her agenda gleamed brilliantly off of the pristine, bleach whitened parchment. Diagnose and confirm mental ailments. Correct behavior. Remain silent. Earn copious amounts of galleons. She released an exaggerated sigh at the contents of such an agreement. Charlie had, of course, refused such an offer from the beginning. At last, she had been drawn in by an undeniable temptation. It wasn't about the profit, no, but rather pertained to the case itself. She had been informed that this particular student had a peculiar penchant for all things abnormal, which was right up the Unspeakable-In-Training's alley. Undesirably infatuated with anatomy. Extreme Introversion. Obsessive. Such traits, among various others, had immediately caught her attention. Glancing up at the clock, she ascertained that it was very nearly the appropriate time to make the introduction of her newest client. Silently, she slipped the parchment into her briefcase and stood from her cushioned chair.
For a few moments, she observed her surroundings, as she had several times in the past few days. She had just received a gracious quadrant of personal space at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, in which she would remain for the remainder of her examinations. As an Unspeakable-In-Training within the Thought Chamber of the Ministry of Magic, she was charged with a final project to prove mastery of her trade. The mission she had been given was to investigate and research a plethora of young, developing minds at the academy. She was to detail a massive report, categorizing each student based on personality, perceptions of reality, and environmental upbringing. Her analysis was not set to commence officially for another few weeks, but it was necessary for her to arrive early to decide upon her subjects. The contract she had been musing over had held her attention since it's arrival in her possession, however. As such, she absolutely could not refrain from inviting the lad for a screening within her first week on campus.
Charlotte had explained certain aspects of her arrangement within the school with the Head of House Slytherin, and Professor Tom Riddle had been happy to oblige her needs. He had delivered instruction to the student in question, one Evan Wilmont Rosier, as to where and when their initial meeting would take place. Charlie had opted to utilize her private quarters, as the setting was rather comforting and secluded. One final time, she organized the utensils upon her desk. Her most precious quill and ink were laid neatly next to a leather bound folder, containing crucial information along with spare bits of parchments for her observation notes. She straightened the chair on the opposite side of the table, fluffing the cushion to assure optimum comfort. When she was satisfied with the systematic appearance of her work space, she walked towards an ornate pewter tea pot. Briefly, she paused to smooth her delicate, pale pink dress, trimmed with feminine white lace. Appeased with her attire, she continued to her brewing station, strictly used for tea, as she had no ability what-so-ever for potions. “Well now, shall it be chamomile, or lavender tea today?” she pondered out loud, indecisive as to her mood for the bevarge today.
