Carmen flew around the black lake on her broom. She spun and looped and zoomed above the lake, her voice carried out as she screamed and yelled.

"WAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"

She laughed with glee. She was free, FREE, FREEEE! Her arms spread shoulder level as she rode her broom stick with no hands, her bare feet only two inches above the water. She wore nothing but a thin white bathrobe and the only wrong with that was that she was not naked. Carmen finally finished all her homework after an entire day of locking herself in her room to finish it all. She hated to study, hated it with a passion, hated it even more than getting detention. But she needed to do the homework or she would get a failing grade. And that was just not an option. All she had to do was get an 80% on all of her classes, that was it. She didn't have to get an O in everything, she didn't have to get everything 100% correct. All she had to do was pass. It had taken her hours, all day, to catch up after slacking off for a while and not bothering to do any of the homework. It took a threat from Professor Carovski to force her to do homework, he had given her an ultimatum, drop the class or do the work. And she could not afford to drop the class, because if she did, it would mean she would have to pick another class. And no other class was as easy as Ghoul Studies. Plus Professor Carovski was incredibly sexy and she loved watching him in front of the classroom.

Flying towards the grassy area, she jumped off her broom and touched down the ground. It took her a while to stop running because she had been going so fast on her broom. Throwing it down on the ground carelessly, she slipped her wand out of the belt around her robes and pointed at the sky. Shoots of light flew up into the sky as they exploded into fireworks.

Music began to play in her head and she began to dance. Her body swaying to the beat and rhythm of the music that no one else could hear, but blasted loudly in her mind. Catching sight of something, she stopped spinning and dancing and looked at a figure nearby.

"Oh..." she said completely taken by surprise. "Hello."

Eddie had been out in the sun most of the day trying to get the tune right for a new song or two. It was a mild day, for November, and he was enjoying being able to sit outside again. There wouldn't be too many more days like this for a while. Snow had already tried to settle the other day, but thankfully hadn't stayed long. It had made Eddie realize how soon he might be locked inside though, and he had become determined to get every last lick of fresh air he could.

He was by the lake today, sitting on a large, dark boulder that was embedded in the ground and soaking up heat from the sunlight. It was a lazy spot that made him feel like a lizard basking by the banks. He had come outside in his winter coat, but after a few minutes in the sun, he braved the cool winds just so that he could show off his bear arms to the afternoon light. He had even kicked his Converse and socks off so that he could wiggle his toes in the crisp grass. It all helped stimulate his creativity.

"Am I, angrier today- how much do these mornings weight? I'll ask my hands that- but oh how it rains..." The boy sang experimentally, hitting the off beat chords on his Harmony guitar without an issue. He new the notes- they came easily to him. His main problem was just just trying to get his lyrics to fit in to the stances. He knew they didn't make any sense, and they were supposed to. They were just supposed to portray a feeling. He was getting there- he was close, but it wasn't quite right yet. He let go of the neck of his guitar and scribbled a few things out in his journal, where he was keeping his songs, and tried again.

There was a loud hoopla over head, and Eddie looked up to see what all the commotion was about. Over the lake there was a girl on a broom, in a bathrobe. Eddie smiled a crooked smile and watch with amusement as the girl swooped down low over the water. That was the feeling he was trying to get through his song! That sunny, free feeling. And boy was this girl free! The wind was whipping her hair around and pulling back her robe to expose a lot of bare skin. Eddie wasn't even sure she was wearing anything under it! Good for her! Talk about a free spirit!

She stumbled down to the ground with an unbridled energy and throwing off fireworks as she spun in circle on the grass. Eddie leaned back and watched the pixie dance. Her energy was attractive, and it made him want to get up there and join her. At the same time, the moment was so pure, he didn't want to interject himself and ruin it. He just wanted to watch, and experience it from a far. After a moment of unconscious euphoria, the girl stopped her dancing and turned to Eddie who just waved slowly and smiled like a Cheshire cat.

"Oh...Hello."

"Hellu," The boy grinned, putting his guitar down in the grass and standing up to go and meet her. "You're a lovely dancer! What song where you dancing to?"

Carmen beamed, "WHY THANK YOU!" She yelled over to him, though it was completely unecessary as he was walking towards her. Her sense of freedom had gotten the best of her, and taken over her mind. Pushing her wand in between the ties of her robe, she walked towards him with carefree abandon. Eddie Muler was not someone she was afraid of, in fact there were rare few people she feared. Eddie was harmless, she knew it and felt comfortable talking to him that instant.

This day would probably the only semi-warm day they would have for the rest of the winter and Carmen had full intentions of taking advantage of it. The cold didn't bother her at all as she was so full of excitement her body heat kept her warm. Carmen didn't stop walking as she neared him. "Pretty Little Angel Eyes by Curtis Lee," she said.

Her hand pointed to her temple, with a wink and a smile, her thoughts were freed from her mind and made their way to him. Carmen was told not to use her incredible gift. Yes, there were many people in the wizarding world that were trained in Occlumency and Legilimency, but she had been gifted enough to know how to do it naturally. As soon as she broke into his mind, the music rang louder in her head.

She reached out to him and grabbed his hands. Her feet began to dance her body around as she twirled with him. The song echoed in their minds as she closed her eyes, "I love this song!" Her laughter filled the air. She wanted to feel this free for the rest of her life, this feeling only came once in a while and she wanted to savor it and share it.

Eddie raised an eyebrow to her, closing the distance between them, “Oh? I’m not sure if I know that one...” He probably did. Eddie was a roaming jukebox when it came to music. He knew every lyric to nearly every good song... but he wasn’t always good with the titles of what he knew. There was so much to learn about a good song, there wasn’t enough room in one persons head to keep it all. In order to remember guitar fingerings, album trivia, and band info, Eddie had to oust most titles. He knew most songs by their chorus lines now. Did he know a chorus with the lyrics ‘pretty little angel eyes’?

Almost interrupting his thoughts, music suddenly poured into his head. He heard that song shaper and clearer than any song before. This was an interesting thing, considering as he tried to follow along with the lyrics, he realised he didn’t know any of them. Yet they were all in his head! He didn’t know this song! Yet every rhythm and every melody was there playing for him. His eyes went wide in a mixture of shock, confusion, and wonder, and his body became plastid, allowing the girl to take up his arms and swing him around.

“I love this song!” The girl laughed, which sent the feeling of extreme happiness through Eddie, bringing his world back to focus and making him laugh as well. He had no clue what was going on! She could hear the music too? He must have snapped- he must be crazy! They were obviously sharing a schizophrenic moment or something, and yet that realisation didn’t scare him. People had been telling him for years that he was crazy, and it just seemed natural that he was finally snapping. Besides, if this was what it was like to feel crazy, it was nice.

He tightened his grip on the girl’s hands, not questioning the magic of the moment, and swung about quickly, letting the cool wind whip through his wild hair. “You’re a lovely dancer!” He realised that he had already told her this and laughed harder. He slowed down a bit and put his hand on her waist, pulling their arms up into a more classical dance form. “Can you slow dance?” He smiled, messing up his face as he tried to come up with some sort of song to dance to that wasn’t upbeat and fun. He wanted to test and see how far this joined hysteria went.
