Harder than it looks (Open)

The two girls had left and Adeline let out a big sigh of relief. They were family and she wasn't really in the right to keep Eileen from Stasja, but the thought provoked an irresistible urge to throw a few hexes. Dropping her arms Addie turned to Benji with a quiet smile. "I've no idea." Her held a little bit of contempt for the Slytherin girl that up and dragged away one of her housemates. "Hey, Benj, don't worry about her, you did great. You have to not let the Slytherin blokes get to you. It may seem that they're all bad, but I've met a few who are pretty cool."

"Don't sweat it Benj, sometimes you just need to show some authority and expect that you may get cursed." Adeline shrugged lightly pushed her strawberry hair behind her ear as if it was nothing. A small amount of shyness started to close in on the usually abrasive girl. Boys were never on the forefront of her mind, the thing with Lucius was just a thing, the pair of them just played music together and she was teaching him the piano, that is all it was and nothing more. They were really good friends and it was nice to know someone out there was interested in learning even at such a late age.

Picking up the violin case she nodded. "Oh don't apologize, you did nothing of the sort, and it is a lovely instrument, it was my late grandmother's. She told my father that his first child had to grow up learning the beauty and art of the Master Opus. I've finally managed to get all twenty four of Paganini's caprices down by heart." Pride began beaming from her cheeks when she mentioned it. He was her favorite composer and therefore she set out to learn from No. 1.

Adeline pushed a lock of hair behind her ear and smiled over at Benji."I like the twenty fourth, it is the most difficult of caprices." Adeline laughed and looked up at Benji. He was short, but luckily she was still shorter than he was with her heels on. That was a good thing in her eyes. Normally guys just towered over her. Give her father for instance, the guy towered over everyone in her family except for her brother Oliver.

Holding the violin case to her chest she smiled noticing his little faraway gaze, but she didn't want to intrude. Addie knew that if he wanted to talk about it he would, right now wasn't the time nor the place to get personal. "Oh yes, she took extreme care of it and she played it nearly everyday. I've never met her personally, she passed away when my dad was very young, but my father says that she was a remarkable woman. Very strict, but remarkable none the less." Rocking back and forth the girl blushed lightly and kept trying to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. A nervous habit had surfaced and Adeline was completely unaware.

"If you want, we can head back to the castle and I can play for you, I mean, if you're not busy that is." The strong Ravenclaw beater was stumbling over her words for a little. The once confident girl was turning into a semi shy individual and in doing such she clutched the case much closer and harder to her chest. "I have a few records in my room that you may like, we could head back to the dorm and give them a listen." She breathed out a breathe that she wasn't aware she had been holding. a hand going to the front of her dress and flattening it out and picking a thread from the hem. "If you want to that is. I make a mean cuppa, if you like tea."

Pearly whites shone brightly in the light of day as he complimented her. Why was she feeling like this? Sure she's had feelings for Grayson that were similar even though she kept them down mostly. Grayson was more like a brother to her anyway. Looking down at her shoes Adeline continued to hug her violin tightly and shook her head. Benji's voice was really sweet, he didn't seem like the kind of guy that would lead a girl on only to be ditched because he was afraid of commitment. The quiet sort always seemed to catch her attention. Maybe it was because of Oliver and his crazy antics that lead her toward the more quiet type. Addie wondered if her brother would approve of Benji seeing as Ollie didn't approve of her playing 'such a silly game, Quidditch.'

"Well then, come on, the violin isn't going to play itself." With that the pair began their walk toward the castle, once their feet hit the stone path her shoes made a faint clicking sound. The toes of her blue pumps were a little dirty, but nothing magic couldn't fix. With Adeline came maintenance, she was a rich kid who had everything she could have ever wanted. She had two loving parents who would drop it all if they were forced to, but sadly they were very busy with work, being Aurors and all. "So, Benji. I was very happy that you could cast the patronus charm so quickly, not many would even be able to make so much as a spark. It took me a couple months, but finally I've managed."

She was making small talk as usual, but for once she wasn't trying to one-up the person so was speaking with. Adeline held people to higher standards, she always did, but that was part of her being a Giovanni. The hem of her dress was brushing just below her knee as they started the climb to the front doors. "I know we haven't really spoken with each other before, but I would like it if we did. Eddie seems very interesting and I've seen you two hang out quite a bit. It's nice to have close friends." She looked down at the ground.

Truth be told, Adeline didn't have many friends. Sure she was on the Quidditch team and she had Hestia no doubt, but when it came to hanging out she rarely did either. Mostly she sat and studied, practiced Quidditch and played chess, that was the extent of her social life.
