This was Stasja's third round around the castle. She'd been walking for hours, aimlessly wandering the grounds lost in her own thoughts. With shoes in hand, the grass felt wonderful beneath her feet. Normally, she hated this kind of hippie nonsense, and dirt. She hated dirt. But she had been under so much stress lately, this oddly enough, was relaxing. The moon was high in the sky and she should have been in her dorm by now, sound asleep. But no. She was wandering about like a mad woman, wearing no shoes, around Hogwarts. Her hands crossed across her chest, she looked up at the moon as if asking for guidance.
Stasja sniffed, this was not the life she wanted.
She would be happy with a boring life- a house with a white picket fence, a cat, a plain husband who went to work carrying a briefcase and.... well... Maybe not children as of yet. But yes, boring, like those boring muggles she hated so much. But that just was not in the cards for her. Not when she had two parents who were involved with Death Eaters, two parents who were important and powerful people. She did not even know what her father did for a living. All she knew was that he left at seven every morning, five days a week and did not come back until five. Sometimes he would leave late at night and come hours later, or not at all. He would stay gone for days, sometimes weeks. How did her mother put up with it? She probably didn't have a choice, it was an arranged marriage after all.
She shuddered, an arranged marriage would make things easy. But she couldn't stand the thought of her parents controlling another part of her life and being married to a stranger, or yet, a person she did not like. Stasja had to do everything she was told, she had to follow the plans laid out for her. She thought that if she did this, everything would be fine. It would be worth it, in the long run.
She breathed the cool night air and closed her eyes. Was she making a wish? Maybe. Shaking her head, she flopped down on the grass. What utter naive nonsense, making wishes. She let her torso fall onto the ground, her body laying on the grass as she looked up at the moon. It was dark, no one could see her- it was okay to be like this once in a while as long as no one knew about it.
