( RIDDIKULUS! ) : Water. Wesley can't swim, and almost drowned at a young age.
( EXPECTO PATRONUM! ) : The day he met his best friend, and one of the only people who was nice to him at Hogwarts--Daniel Stoot. He was a Hufflepuff in his year. They met on the train. Daniel was Wesley's opposite in a lot of ways, and helped him to learn how to take a joke and loosen up. Daniel also helped Wesley accept his stutter, and it had even shown signs of going away in their Seventh Year.
( DEMENTOR'S KISS ) : The day Daniel died. It was two years after they left Hogwarts. Daniel had always been a risk taker. He traveled to Romania that summer to train to work with Dragons. He never came back, and they say all that was left of him was some burnt clothing and bits of hair. Wesley always considered Daniel to be his better half, and reverted back into his old introvertedness after the tragedy.
( MIRROR OF ERISED ) : Wesley's deepest desire is for Daniel to be alive again. In more ways than one, he loved him. Wesley has the desire to find love again, but has a hard time finding it--rather, he has a hard time getting over the initial awkwardness and nobody ever sticks around.
( PERSONALITY ) : Wesley is a very intelligent person, and if it's of a professional nature, can be a very interesting person to talk to. When it comes to casual conversation or situations, however, he is clueless. He comes off as many things: Snobby, Mysterious, Shy, Humorless...but he isn't any of these things. Wesley has a stutter--though it isn't as severe as an adult as it was as a child--so it is easy for people to get this impression. He also takes his work very seriously. However, when you get to know Wesley personally, he has the potential to be quite funny and open-minded. If he is close with you, he also talks quite a lot, despite his impediment. Past bullying, in childhood and adulthood, has taught him to keep mostly to himself around people he isn't well-acquainted with.

Wesley isn't a coward, however he is easily influenced. His childhood friend Daniel, for instance, influenced him greatly when it came to getting over his stutter and becoming more friendly. When Daniel died, so did a lot of that influence. Anyone Wesley gets close to, he becomes easily influenced by, and often becomes emotionally attached to them, whether it's platonic or romantic. It takes a great toll on him when such a person leaves his life.

It's accurate to say Wesley has an addictive personality. He doesn't go halfway on anything, or anyone, once he's committed to it. He doesn't have particularly strong opinions on a lot of things, due to his nature of being easily influenced.

After 34 years of being alive, Wesley still doesn't have a very firm grip on who he is.

( HAIR ) : Fine, black hair that falls into his eyes. Wesley has almost always worn it this way, though sometimes he slicks it back for formal occasions. Usually seen running his hands through it when thinking or feeling troubled/frustrated.
( EYES ) : Wesley's eyes are such a dark brown that they're almost black, and heavy-lidded. They have a genuine, gentle look about them.
( FACIAL STRUCTURE ) : Very long nose and defined cheekbones. Wesley's face is long and thin, much like the rest of his physique.
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : Very thin and lanky in stature, has a little muscle tone but not much. Stands at 6'2", pale, and has very large hands with very long, spider-like fingers. Mr. Ollivander joked when his wand chose him, saying, "13.5 inches! That's almost as long as your fingers are, isn't it?"
( ATTIRE ) : Outside of his home, Wesley is rarely seen in anything other than professional attire. Under his robes he is always dressed in a plain white dress shirt and vest.
( PLAY-BY ) : Adrien Brody

( PARENTS ) : Sebastien Charles Leer & Caroline Leigh Leer--Wesley has loving, supportive parents. They do expect a lot from him, though, but aren't tyrannical about it. His father and mother work at Gringotts Bank, where they originally met. Wesley greatly resembles his father in appearance, and his mother in personality. His father is a more jovial, extroverted individual. His mother, Caroline, has deep auburn hair and is curvy rather than lanky.

( HISTORY ) : Much of Wesley's history has already been mentioned; his fear of water, the tragedy of losing a friend early in life. Otherwise, Wesley considers himself a boring person. While in Hogwarts, he was less interested in making friends and more interested in being the top of his class. He most certainly was, though he found he was dreadful at Divination, Ancient Runes and Muggle Studies. Wesley has never met a Muggle in person, and while he doesn't hate them, he isn't fond of them for this reason. He does not understand them.

Romantically, Wesley can't say he's ever been in love. He's never admitted the underlying romantic feelings he held for his friend Daniel; not even Daniel knew. And Wesley has a hard time admitting them to even himself. However, he's had fleeting interests over the years. Many women have come into his life with enthusiasm, only to realize that his introvertedness isn't an act to appear mysterious. They tend to come and go, each time making Wesley feel more inadequate than before in the realm of romance.

Professionally, Wesley excels. He pours a lot of himself into the job he performs, and he is good at it.

He always had a stable family life. His parents are very respectable purebloods, and are very loving toward their son. Wesley is what some would call a "Mother's Boy", as many men tend to be; they have always been very close. She stayed home to raise him for much of his childhood, and only went back to work at Gringotts when he started his first year at Hogwarts. Being an only child, the Leers gave their son everything he ever wanted, though they instilled in him an appreciation for the things he had; he was definitely a spoiled child, but also very grounded.

This has stayed constant for him into adulthood.

Wesley gently tapped his boots against the door frame before entering The Three Broomsticks. It had been snowing all day and didn't show signs of stopping. A lot of people disliked the cold, but Wesley had always been fond of it. The clothing he preferred to wear was best suited for this time of year. Summertime was just...sticky.

He muttered a few 'pardon me's as he shuffled his way through the crowd and made his way towards the bar. 'It must be a Hogsmeade weekend,' he thought to himself. The small pub was never so packed on any other day.

Wesley gripped the back of a chair as he approached the bar. Madame Rosmerta recognized him immediately; Wesley had become somewhat of a regular here. She smiled at him and slid over an ice-covered glass filled with a rich, red liquid. He inclined his head at her in thanks, and sat down. She always remembered what he liked--Dragon Wine--but that didn't make him feel special. Rosmerta had an excellent memory.

Wesley always came alone. He never spoke to anyone, and nobody ever spoke to him. He'd have a drink, perhaps five, and a cigarette. And then he'd go home. He didn't come here to socialize. Rather, he came here to feel like he had a life outside of work and home. He didn't fancy being a hermit. This made him feel like he had a social life without actually having one.

He had been sitting in this seat at the bar at least once a week for five years. He could remember only six times he had been approached by anyone aside from Rosmerta. Two of them had been men, asking if he could switch them seats. One of them had been a woman, feeling vengeful after a recent breakup. That had been an unusual--yet pleasant--night. The other three had been co-workers who recognized him and, for lack of anything more interesting to say, waffled on about work until they felt awkward and rejoined their mates.

Someone had occupied the seat on Wesley's right. Tonight would be his seventh encounter.
