( PERSONALITY ) :
Amara, true to her house, is a fiercely loyal friend. She isn't choosy or guarded about making friends, either--she loves to acquaint herself with new people and loves to be surrounded in people.
As a result, solitude doesn't sit well with Amara. She begins to feel insecure and depressed if she doesn't have something to do or someone to see at almost all times. She spends a lot of time in the Common Room socializing, as well as the court yard.
Her best subjects are Transfiguration and Astronomy. Potions is her most difficult subject--her impatience coupled with her inability to properly slice things to their exact size is what ruins most of her concoctions.
Because Amara is an extremely loyal friend, she sometimes winds up stepping in on a situation where she isn't needed. This also has a lot to do with her age--she's still a little immature. She has a "you mess with them, you mess with me" attitude.
She does have some self-confidence issues, and was a very shy child growing up. She is trying to get over these, which she attempts to do by being constantly surrounded in people.
Furthermore, self-confidence is harder to come by, considering she wasn't raised in this culture from the start. She still feels like she's miles behind the rest of her peers, and is eager to catch up. There are still many aspects of the Wizarding World that she feels like a stranger in.
One of Amara's favorite parts about the Wizarding World is Quidditch. As a child, she loved Soccer, and was overjoyed to discover the Wizarding equivalent. She follows Quidditch closely, but her fear of heights has always prevented her from playing personally.
Some would describe Amara as a "Tomboy", but she doesn't like to believe she is. She still appreciates lots of girly things, and fancies herself a sharp dresser. However, she isn't afraid to get dirty or sweaty, and likes to do things spontaneously.
While very social, Amara isn't typically seen in the spotlight of any cliques in the school. She's a great friend and a fun companion, but she's not the leader type.
She can be very immature, she is 16 after all, but she's not an overly-loud person and she doesn't throw tantrums. If she's upset about something, she'll probably try to find a solitary place to have a good cry. It might be the only time she prefers to be alone.
Amara can be a very witty person and has a very well-rounded sense of humor. She can find the funny in most situations, even when most people can't.
Amara's greatest defense is humor--she will try to find a way to laugh at something before she resorts to hurt feelings.
She is a big fan of pranks and rule-breaking, but within reason. She's not a fan of cruel shenanigans and she knows when to draw the line.

( HAIR ) : Amara has naturally golden-blonde hair that she typically wears long and down around her instead of tied up. She will sometimes get into a mood and hack it all off, but luckily, it grows rather fast.
( EYES ) : Amara's eyes are a chocolate-brown and lined with very long eyelashes. Her eyes are large and make it hard for her to keep any emotion hidden for long.
( FACIAL STRUCTURE ) : Petite nose, rounded chin, thin yet round face.
( BODY STRUCTURE ) : Amara is 5'5" and thin, but more athletically toned due to many summers playing Muggle Soccer. However, all of that time in the sun does nothing for her skin, which remains stubbornly pale.
( ATTIRE ) : School robes, of course! She quite appreciates a sun dress, though.
( PLAY-BY ) : Diana Agron.

( PARENTS ) :[/size][/blockquote]
Jasper Sawyer: Father, Accountant
Carla Sawyer: Mother, Kindergarten Teacher
Jasper and Carla love each other very much, and love their daughters. They've always been a tight-knit family. They really thought Amara's Hogwarts letter was a joke at first. It took 40 Owls and an official Hogwarts Representative coming to the house to convince them.
( SIBLINGS ) : Amara has only one sibling--a twin sister, named Ayla. Ayla didn't inherit the magical genes, apparently--and it contributes a lot to Amara's fear of loneliness while at school. She and her sister have always been inseparable, and it's very difficult. They'd always considered each other to be an exact copy--but when Amara got her letter to Hogwarts and Ayla didn't, it drove a wedge between them. That's the moment when the two girls really started to become different.
( OTHERS ) : Nah.
( HISTORY ) :
Like most Muggleborn children, Amara dedicated all of her effort to doing the best she can in school, and still does. She isn't a total natural, though, so she isn't the top of her class. But learning magic has proven to be way more fun than math, and she rather enjoys getting an education at all.
Nothing of note has happened in Amara's past that would damage or alter her character in any giant ways. Her parents, though still very confused about her whole new world, are supportive, and her Muggle friends just think she transferred schools. She actually used to be quite a shy child, but learning about her magical abilities and having four years so far of honing them has broken her out of her shell quite a bit.

( ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE ) :
I'm feeling lazy, so here's a post from another site from a totally different character:Ursula stepped into the Hogwarts Castle with her fellow Seventh Years as though she owned the place. She had her "Head Girl" badge displayed proudly upon her chest, and her usual gang of girls surrounding her, giggling merrily about their Summer excursions as they entered the Entrance Hall.
Ursula had had a good Summer. Her parents had taken she and her little brother on holiday to Spain. It was refreshing to take in another culture, but she had absolutely hated the food. It had almost ruined her trip, and her stomach. The stories she brought back were amusing enough to fill up most of the monorail-trip back to the castle, though.
She looked around cautiously, instinctively, as she entered the hall--it was commonly known that Peeves the Poltergeist liked to give grief to new and returning students, and it was never certain when he'd show up, or which students he'd target. Ursula remembered her Fourth Year, when Peeves had gotten hold of some of the food for the feast, and Ursula had been on the receiving end of a cauldron of hot soup being dumped over everyone.
Ursula hated Peeves.
She had heard about the recent passing of Headmaster Ivanov, and it saddened her. Not only had he been the one to present her with the Head Girl badge for the upcoming year, but Ursula had spent six years sucking up to that man, only for him to pass away in her final year, the year where she'd need his recommendations the most. She wasn't aware that the Ravenclaw Prefect was having similar thoughts, but the difference was, Ursula was more open about it. All of that time spent getting Ivanov to like her, and this was her reward? She'd have to start all over with the new Headmaster, when--or if--he was to be appointed. She could only hope he was impressed easily.
Ursula spotted a familiar face as she was about to enter the Great Hall and take her seat at the Slytherin table. She hesitated a moment, until one of her friends urged her forward. Ursula's eyes snapped away from Ethan Stiles, just as his head began to turn in her direction. "What's ol' Squib Lips doing here?" she said to one of her friends, loud enough for him to hear her. Her friend giggled at this comment and they left Ethan Stiles standing there to continue waiting for the First Years.
What did he think, she'd run up and hug him? In his dreams. What was he doing here, anyway? Trying to teach? She'd be interested to see that charade--everyone who knew Ethan knew about his stutter, and Ursula perhaps knew him better than anyone. At one point, she'd even found the stammer to be endearing. Though she'd never let that be known.
When Ursula was in her fourth year, and Ethan in his sixth, they had dated for a time. A long time. In fact, it had been Peeves' hot soup prank that had introduced them. Ethan had given his robes to a mortified and humiliated Ursula, and from there it had been history. They dated all the way up until he left Hogwarts. By then, there was too much strain on their relationship. Ethan was frustrated with Ursula because she wanted to keep their relationship private. Ursula was frustrated with Ethan because he was leaving, and because he didn't understand that dating a Half-Blood Hufflepuff just might kill her father.
It hadn't been a clean break. Ethan had the classic, "I just want to be friends" conversation with her just before he left Hogwarts. Ursula hadn't taken it well. She'd never been broken up with before--she always did the breaking. Not only that, but it felt an awful lot like leaving Hogwarts meant he was too mature to be with her. As if. They hadn't spoken once since.
And now Ethan had returned to teach? Her blood boiled a little. He couldn't wait one more year until after she left? He couldn't let her enjoy her final year here? It was hard enough to do without him lurking around, this castle was disgusting. She had dated a few times since Ethan, it had been a year after all. But she had only just begun to get over Ethan. Seeing him now made her feel lots of things all at once, but anger was at the top right now.
She was passing by the Ravenclaw table when a ferret popped out of nowhere and ate a fly right out of the air. "Ugh!" Ursula cried, startled and a little grossed out. "Are you kidding me? Who said you could have your over-large rat at the same tables we eat from?"
Ursula didn't know Wesley well, but of course she was familiar with him. They had both been Prefects last year, and therefore had to spend some amount of time in each other's proximity. She wasn't crazy about Wesley's ferret. It smelled.
