Life was freakin’ awesome. Killswitch was moving to Hogsmeade and Caitlin couldn’t have been more ecstatic. Today had been the best day in her whole life. That afternoon Cillian had met up with her for lunch, a very important lunch in fact. The news of his relocation had been enough to make the girl burst with excitement. And then he laid the icing on the cake. Caitlin Gallagher was an aunt. It was sudden, yes. And she couldn’t imagine what Cillian’s shock level must have been. Dad to a kid he didn’t know about. If Caitlin had gotten wind that she’d fathered a child….The more she thought about it the more that situation seemed impossible with her genetic makeup. ”Huh… Tha’d be crazy.” The girl laughed and stuffed the corner of a cookie in her mouth as she made her way through the halls.
She had no idea where she was going. The journey had started as a walk back from lunch. It had been an amazing feast. Kills had packed a great big picnic basket full of potatoes and bread and bacon roasted brussel sprouts, and every yummy Irish thing Cait missed about home. Even… the green. The Gallagher children had forever been discreet in their use of forbidden substances, and had even been proactive about the addition of edibles into the world of weed. So to see Cillian putting a blunt on the blanket along with a tall tutshill blue water pipe, was nothing out of the ordinary for Cait. He’d explained to her that this was the last time they could have a lunch of this manner though. Seeing as he was a dad and all, Cait understood his call to responsibility, and didn’t judge that he was giving up the sort of reckless habit. The worst was when he packed up their things and handed her the remains of the paraphernalia he had. ”Ol’ Blue?” Her eyes watered. It was like he was passing the torch.
The best part of his pass down… was the bag full of brownies and other snacks that he’d given her. If Cait didn’t have to go round smelling like it and being super obvious about it, Cait didn’t want to. So the edibles were the best. ”Uh… sugar and pot… how could tha’ be a bad thing?” had been her initial take on them. Her thoughts had hardly changed now as she wandered through the hall, a brownie now in hand as the cookie had magically disappeared. She was on her way back to the common room to stash her stash, but had gotten distracted and was now meandering up and down the moving stair cases, happily munching on her snack and grinning at absolutely everyone. It had been a challenge for the girl not to wave excitedly at McGonagall and yell ”What up Minny!!!” But she’d suppressed the urge and kept wandering. The next face she saw however, was going to be hard to avoid. Especially since Caitlin was so excited to see her.
”Professor Mackenna!!! Yo!!” Caitlin was grinning like a loon as she approached the woman and reached the bottom of the stairs just in time for them to move again. ”Whoa… Close one. I just had Hlunch with me brother. Very interestin’ conversation we had.” Cait could not for the life of her keep her mouth shut. And right now would have been the best time for that ability to kick in. Fortunately, the luck of the Irish was on her side and she’d yet to be caught by any other professors. Yet.
