Nodding lightly he looked at the brunette and only a smile came to his lips. Cillian was certain this is what he wanted to do. From the moment it left her lips that Teagan was his, he had made up his mind on the spot. It was what he wanted. Truth was, Cillian couldn't want anything more than to be in his daughter's life. No one deserves to grow up without both parents as it was sick and demented. Why not try and make it work? Why not get a house in Hogsmeade? Cillian had the money, and he would be more than happy to support the both of them, but it was up to Aislinn.

"Shh-shh, don' ya cry o'er this." Cillian's voice was over a whisper just so she could hear him. The pain in her eyes was everything he wanted. Not in some sick demented way at all, no, it explained to him everything she felt and that was what he needed to know. Aislinn McKenna was truly sorry and he knew that within a few moments. "Ya could'ave told me ya know. I was busy with work, got caugh' up in all tha matches, busy as hell get out, bu' there is always time fer family." His eyes were soft as he studied the features of hers. Everything about her was amazing and the way she spoke made his throat catch.

This was all so odd, everything about it, but Teagan was his daughter. "Family is much more importan' ta me than me feelin's fer ya. She deserves ta 'ave a good life, knowin that 'er parents love each other. E'ery kid deserves tha' and I know tha' she means more ta ya than I e'er could now. I'm nah going ta get in the midst of it all, but there isn' a damn thing I should be mad at ya about. I'm hurt an' all, but ya 'ad yer reasons. All I know is tha' family is supposed ta be sitckin' together an' I cannot.... Aislinn, yer now family, so ya better be gettin' used to it."

Cillian's lips curled into a smile as he looked at Aislinn. The pain she went through seemed like it was unbearable and he wasn't there to help her. "I jus' wish ya woulda told me sooner. I could've been there, 'elped ya with the medical bills n' all. Tha' house in 'Ogsmeade is 'appenen with er without ya. I need ta settle down anyway, but jus' so ya know Aislinn. I wouldn' hesitate ta propose to ya again. Even after all this news."

At every turn Cillian was finding some new way to surprise her. Not only was she surprised by his rare bout of maturity for a lad his age, his words and decisiveness only endeared him to Aislinn even more than he already was. If she were to be true to herself and her heart, Aislinn could easily admit to Cillian being not just her first true love, but her knight in shining armor. Her mind raced back in time to when she had initially found out she was pregnant. Cillian was playing professional quidditch, something he loved and had a true passion for. She couldn't take that away from him, not just because they had been too dumb one night to use any protection. Cillian was always so giving of himself to others, Aislinn wouldn't take the risk he'd retire from the Tornadoes or anything similar.

"I couldn't take yer dreams away from ya' Cill," Aislinn replied softly, wiping the tears from her cheeks with her one free hand. It seemed like a foolish reason now, but two years ago, she had honestly thought she was looking out for Cillian's best interests. "An' by the time you were in the off season, me Da' had just passed an' I was left ta' look after me Ma' and brother until they put their lives back together." The memory of finding her father collapsed in the family company's warehouse workshop still haunted her. Aislinn had discovered her father, already dead.

Cillian was truly a remarkable man. Where most would have cut and run knowing they had a child but weren't in the picture, he wanted nothing more than to jump right in and fill Teagan's father-role. He hadn't even demanded a paternity test from Aislinn. It not only showed the connection he had begun forming with Teagan, but it still showed Aislinn he didn't deem her as some sort of tramp.

His voice, though soft, considerate and caring, had a stern and matter-of-fact quality to it. To him, she as family, she would always be family, and he was not going to abandon her. Caught in the moment, her eyes searching his relentlessly as he spoke, as he told her he wouldn't hesitate to propose to her again, Aislinn didn't think. She simply acted on instinct. With her free hand, Aislinn cupped the side of his face and then swiftly closed the gap between them, careful not to disturb Teagan in her arms. In mere seconds, her lips were pressed against his. It was new, yet old, familiar. She wasn't sure if it was a smart move, but shse couldn't help herself.

Pulling back, her face only mere inches from his, her hand still resting on his cheek. For once, Aislinn looked him straight in the eyes as she spoke. Her own eyes were wide, hopeful, and full of passion. "What is it you want?"

Aislinn was everything he could have ever wanted. Taking in a deep breath his eyes scoured hers for any change in emotion, anything that would set him completely off his direct mind path. Nothing. There was nothing she could have said that would change what he decided on. "Ya wouldn' be takin' me dreams away Ash, an I'm sorry ta' hear 'bout yer da, he was a damn fine man if I do say so me self, an I know what it can be like ta lose one o' yer own. Me Great Aunt passed a few years back, she was really close with me mum an all us kids, but nothin' can compare ta what it would feel like ta lose yer own Da." Cillian had no clue what he would do when his dad passed, it would be heart wrenching of that he knew, but they lived in a world where anything was possible.

Fingers grazed the side of his cheek, and he looked down at the petite frame the woman carried. She was lovely, everything from the very end of her hair to her toes, not one thing was out of place. Oncer her lips touched his, Cillian couldn't move, paralyzed in the moment as he perked his own to return the favor. All the feelings he had buried for many years came boiling up, back to the surface. "What I want, is ta be with ya, an help ya with our daugh'er. I wan' ta see 'er grow inta a fine lass like 'er mum. Tha' is what I wan' Aislinn." There was not one moment of hesistation in his voice, no wavering confidence.

"Like I said before, I'm gonna buy a 'ouse in Hogsmeade, I'll apparate to an' from work e'eryday. Tha' way I can be home fer our daugh'er, she deserves tha best in tha world, an' withou' both 'er parents, she cannot 'ave tha. Livin' with gramma is fine, bu' I would 'ate fer 'er ta grow up not knowin' me, tha's the wors' thing tha' I could e'er imagine." Swallowing hard as he very thoroughly thought out his next line of words. Cill let his hand rest at the base of her neck on her bare skin, his palm covered up the scars that were poking out from underneath her collar. Even through all the ugly scarring, Cillian believed one-hundred percent that she was more beautiful than anyone within the grasp of the ozone layer.

Clearing his throat a little he looked down at the small one year old girl, she had her mother's hair color, but she definitely had his cheeks and he didn't need to question whether or not the girl was his, he knew. "What do ya say Aislinn, would ya be willin' ta' live with me in 'Ogsmeade? Tha three o' us."

To say she was taken aback would have been an understatement when it came to the thoughts swirling around inside Aislinn's brain. This had not been quite the reaction she had planned for, and to make matters worse, Cillian was steadfast in everything he was currently saying to her. The most assurance she had gotten out of him was when he kissed her back. That small action confirmed everything Aislinn wanted or needed to know from him.

Despite his assurance she wouldn't have taken his dreams away, Aislinn knew exactly what would have happened to the pair two years ago. If Aislinn had contacted him, had told him then he would have done one of two things; Either reject the whole situation and go about his life as a childless bachelor--or he would have settled down with her and found a way to support his family. As much as it had pained her to let Cillian slip away, Aislinn knew it was for the better. Why should both of them have had to live restricted lives with an infant? Besides, playing professional Quidditch had been like a dream to him. Though she was terrified to raise a child alone, Aislinn couldn't justify to herself taking anything away from Cillian.

"Well then," Aislinn spoke soft but stern after Hogsmeade was brought up again. He wanted her, to live with her, to help raise Teagan. Had it really taken her eight years only to come right back to the relationship Cillian had suggested in her seventh year? No, he wasn't proposing although he had just admitted it wasn't a thought completely out of his mind. But he wanted her, he wanted to spark that old flame again and give them a try.

"I guess it is decided then." for the first time since the whole secret had been revealed, Aislinn was smiling, "I suppose we're ta' be a family. That is if yer absolutely certain. It's goin' ta' be a big adjustment, gettin' used to havin' a baby around."

Cillian couldn't say no so instead he looked at Aislinn and took in a deep breath. "I'm willin' ta accept me responsibilities as her Da. Try an' help me ou' because honestly, love, I've no idea what I'mma be doin'," Cill looked upon Aislinn and smiled at her, it seemed that he would be looking at buying that house sooner, possibly running out to Hogsmeade later and buying a house, fixing it up real quick and getting some furnishings for it. Muggle had this thing called a Television, at least that was what his mum said so he was hoping it would be possible to jimmy rig the thing to get muggle cable. However he had to look at the here and now. "I love ya, Ash, don' ferget tha' even if things seem ta be gettin' a little hectic." Without so much as a flair in the cheeks or a stutter of hesitation he looked at the brunette.

"I suppose I should be askin' ya what ya want in a house, I mean, bein' yer new house mate an all." Cillian grinned. Putting off Quidditch practice was something he hated, but finding out he had a daughter was more important than that. Maybe her mum could babysit at the new house, or his own mum could do some of the watching while both of them were away at work, or when he was on tour. Down time was always good, and now he knew that he was going to be taking every advantage he could get. This meant cutting down on the parties, the alcohol, the intense amounts of fun. "I'll make it work fer the both o' us, but I think it would be nice ta actually meet yer mum so she doesn' think that I'm some run down an' broke bloke." Cillian's teeth brightened the room for a few moments. "You'll also 'ave ta be prepared fer change, datin' or marryin' a Quidditch Pro isn't all candy n' rainbows as much as I'd like it ta be. You'll 'ave fans clambering at ya, papparazzis tryin' ta get yer picture fer the next issue of tha' fandangled Beater magazine."

The excitement he was feeling happened to be intense. Cillian couldn't wait to get settled down with Aislinn and his daughter, Teagan. She was beautiful, they both were, and in that moment if anyone ever so much as lay a finger on his family he wouldn't hesitate to murder them. They meant that much to him, and Teagan, even in the short amount of time he's played with her, he knew that she would forever hold his heart. "Well, I'm thinkin' of making a trek out ta 'Ogsmeade before Caitlin wakes 'er butt up, purchasin' us a house and gettin' it all settled right 'bout now. If ya wan' ya can stay 'ere and take care o' the lil' one while I go house scoutin' there's got ta be somethin' worth my money in tha' small villiage. Tha' is unless ya don' trust me judgement, but I 'ave ta say, me judgement is spot on with the both o' ya."

For the first time in over a year, Aislinn felt like she could finally breath. There was no weight pushing down on her shoulders, no dreading fear she might be rejected or worse. Teagan actually had a father who wanted nothing more than to be a part of his daughter's life, as well as her mother's. In some ways, Aislinn felt like the schoolgirl from seven years ago. Her heart was racing, there were butterflies in her stomach, and she looked as though she had slept with a wire hanger in her mouth. Whatever the hell she had been thinking when she turned Cillian's proposal down all those years ago, it was long gone now. They were about to embark on a journey together, albeit a little late and perhaps a bit backwards, but they were together.

”She's already takin' a likin' ta' ya.” Aislinn told him with a gentle smile as she repositioned the sleeping baby in her arms. Teagan seemed to meld perfectly into her mother's form while she was asleep, and Aislinn had always reveled in these small moments she got to just hold the girl. She wondered how Cillian would do, and if he would understand the preciousness of these small moments when he had the chance. ”Everythin' else is trial an' error. Ya' really can't mess it up, an' Teagan is such an easy baby anyways. But I promise, I'll be there ev'ry step o' the way.”

It was amazing to Aislinn just how ready and accepting she seemed to be of this new situation. In the course of one day, she had managed to run into an old flame, reveal the father of her daughter, and agree to move in and basically become monogamous with the same man. They fit together so easily, and could do so even after so much time spent apart. Not that there wouldn't be bumps in the road. They each had their own individual lives before today, and it would be difficult merging those. But as Cillian professed his love for her, she was reassured once again that though impulsive, this was the right move. Though, she did quirk an eyebrow up curiously as he called himself her housemate. ”Housemate? Cillian, can ya' honestly tell me ya' see us livin' together an' not ending up in tha' same bed? There's hardly been a time we've run into one another an' ended up in separate beds.” She let out a little laugh, knowing the reality of their relationship was going to be quite different from now on. And that was okay. For once in her life, Aislinn was ready and willing for something serious.

”I think I can handle the press an' yer little fans. I've spent most of my life around pro quidditch players thanks to the family business. I've always been able to hold me own. Not to mention, ya' don't go poking around a ma' bear when her cub is around. Believe me, tha' sight is not a pretty one.” Again, she laughed. Aislinn was halfway between shell shocked and elated at everything unfolding between them. He wanted to meet her mother, and was planning on who would watch Teagan when they'd be away. In her head, all Aislinn could picture was the two of them coming home at the end of the day to the home they'd yet to purchase, and spending time with their daughter. From the moment she had found out she was pregnant, it was all the young professor had ever wanted. ”As long as it has three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen an' yard, I think you'll find something perfect.”
