[/b] Her voice was squawky like a bird and Jack put his hands over his ears, trying to use them as ear muffs. It was too early for all of this insanity.
There was something so perfect about the way that the sun peaked over the stained glass window in the library...something so perfect...and yet so horribly eye-opening to this conclusion:
It was morning.
Jack Campbell felt the sun touch his face as he slowly lifted it out of the page that he had been lying on for the past eight hours. There was a thin circle of drool that lay on the book, letting him know that he had indeed been passed out for at least a couple of hours. How he had managed to fall asleep in the library, the world would never know. Didn’t they normally kick people out who spent too much time here? In a rush of panic, he slammed his head upwards, looking for his prized possession camera that he knew should have been on the table. ’What if someone stole it?’ Jack thought with panic. Not fully awake, it took him a few moments to realize that the camera was sitting right there in front of him, where he had left it.
The Gryffindor took the camera into his hands and then slammed it into his lap, happy that it was once again in his possession and not just lying around like some old hunk of junk. His eyes shifted over to the desk where Madame Pince sat there, her beady eyes watching him. Merlin, she was creepy when it was just the two of them...
”You slept here.”
He was quite aware that he had slept in the library, evidenced by his drool-circle, extreme neck ache, and the fact that his camera was sitting out in broad day-light without theft protection, ”I am aware, you could have woken me up, Pince.”[/b] He retorted as he slammed his book-pillow shut.
”Oh I know.”[/b]
”You know? Merlin you-”[/b] Jack managed to cut himself off before he said something uncommonly rude to the woman that stood behind the desk. With a scoff, Madame Pince shrugged off, presumably to go shelve some of the books that were piling up around her desk area. Jack gathered all of his stuff, throwing it into his satchel and threw his camera over his neck. he was going to get out of her and get some real sleep...hopefully in his own bed this time.
However, instead of leaving the library like he had so fully intended, Jack became entranced by the stained glass window that had been the source of his wake-up call. The light was perfect, reflecting off the different colored class pieces and casting a rainbow of colors onto the tiled floor of the library. He knelt down, moving his camera upwards as he caught the light at just the right angle. He snapped a few pictures - just the regular unmoving muggle kind - and grinned to himself. He couldn’t wait to develop these babies; they were going to be perfection.
It was then that someone passed in front of his camera lens and the light reflected off of their face. He snapped the picture before he realized the obstruction and immediately pulled the camera away from his eyes, ”Oye! Watch where you’re going! Can’t you see some of us are trying to work here?”[/b] He demanded at the person that now stood in front of him.
