Zeke closed his eyes as he felt the cool wind brush across his face, the weather was starting to turn and the wind had started to regain the icy familiarity of a Hogwart’s winter. He looked up to the stars and smiled as his eyes found Bellatrix, the star in the center of Orion’s belt. He breathed a sigh of relief as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out his pack of cigarettes. It was a new pack so he had to pack the tobacco down by beating it against his palm; it was an odd technique that he had learnt over the summer when he was training with the French national team. He had seen the muggles in France doing it, and he had asked one of them and they had taught him. He would have ignored it, however once he tried it he found that the cigarettes burnt slower and had an even better flavor; so he continued the practice. He finally opened the pack and withdrew a cigarette and placed it between his teeth before producing his lighter; it was a stainless steel one with a snake on it that he had found at a muggle smoke shop, it was made by a famous muggle lighter company but the only reason he had actually purchased it was because it reminded him of his Slytherin heritage. He flicked the cigarette and quickly lit his cigarette taking a long, slow drag; letting his lungs fill with the menthol smoke.
He exhaled throw his nose, chuckling to himself, he always felt that he looked like a dragon when he did that. Zeke leaned against the castle wall, knowing that he was safe from Filch’s presence; he never came outside once the weather got cold and Mrs. Norris was terrified of Zeke ever since he transfigured her into a block of cheese and let the rats chase her for a change; in his defense he had at least allowed her to keep her legs so she could run away from them. But as he heard the doors to the castle open he whipped his head around, hoping that it wasn’t still warm enough for Filch to do his rounds outside after all. He saw the silhouette of the person and rolled his eyes, he was confident he knew who was joining him and was wondering if he wouldn’t it rather be Filch after all. “Good Evening Integra.” He called out to her, his voice showing how enthused he was for her to be joining him.
