Aislinn smiled happily as her baby girl babbled away senselessly in her stroller as they walked through the village of Hogsmeade. The strengthening autumn air had begun to turn, causing extra layers to be worn when outside. Teagan was reclining happily in her stroller, a knit cap covering her thin dark hair, and her favorite blanket covering her tiny body. Weekends, holidays, and the odd night home were the only moments Aislinn really got to spend time with her daughter since taking up a position at Hogwarts. The young professor, though only in her first year of teaching, knew she wouldn't be able to continue the path much longer. Already she hated the time spent away from her little one, and she hated feeling like a burden to her poor mother. The woman had a company to run, not to mention still raising her younger brother who was currently at Hogwarts as a student. Still, raising a sixteen year old was a lot less complicated than a one year old. Especially when they attend boarding school. Still, Teagan was her pride and joy. She couldn't imagine being away from the child most of the year. It was going to prove difficult.
Shaking her long, straight hair off her shoulders, Aislinn stopped the stroller in front of Honeyduke's. There was nothing better than a little mommy and me time turning into a full out spoiling session. Aislinn was very much aware she'd pay for it later, but for right now all she wanted was to see Teagan's smile. Lifting the little lass out of her stroller, she settled against her mother's hip. The shift in body position caused the girl's woolen coat to bunch up under her chin in the fashion so accustomed to babies. Aislinn grinned as, with her free hand, she managed to pull the coat back down. "Do you want some sweeties today, Teag?" she cooed to her daughter as they entered the shop. Despite not being a weekend for students to visit, the shop was oddly cramped with younger children running, hooting and hollering. A few frenzied parents attempted to gain control of their young ones, while the smarter of the bunch had merely stuffed a few coins into their children's hands and sauntered across the way to the Three Broomsticks. It really was the intelligent way to deal with the raucous scene she had walked into.
Aislinn held Teagan instinctively closer to her person as the walked further into the shop. Not that she was concerned any eight year old was going to want to steal her, but from the wide eyed stared of her daughter, she knew when she was being overwhelmed. She chuckled as a few kids accidentally bumped into her and glanced back with quickly spewed apologies before grabbing more sweets. Aislinn had been just like them when she was their age. She had yet to meet a child who didn't go crazy when entering a candy shop.
Hearing a little babbling against her shoulder, Aislinn looked down at Teagan. The baby girl had somehow managed to grab a sugar quill from a nearby shelf and was studying it as if she had just found gold. Teagan glanced to her mother before sticking the candy in her mouth, as if silently asking if it was okay. Aislinn grinned at her and nodded, only then realizing her daughter had once had a pacifier in her mouth. "Where did it go, silly?" She began searching the surrounding counter tops and floor. Merlin forbid if she didn't find the damned thing. Like mother, like daughter, Teagan was particularly picky about certain things, especially her pacifiers. Why did children have to have favorites? It made parents' jobs just so much more difficult.
