There was something so naked about having your darkest secret hanging in the air. Students at Hogwarts knew about the dark truth he didn't even speak about in a silent empty room to himself. He hadn't even been able to stop to question how Tyson knew. When the subject turned out less about exploiting Remus or outing him in anyway, it was easy to forget about himself. A girl in the castle needed his help. Without his blood, she might very well die. How could Remus possibly be thinking of his own problems when something so much more important was going on?
"No... no no no." He sighed waving his hands at the self-typing typewriter in front of him. The class room had long since emptied and Remus sat alone working on a paper. As the keys quieted down Remus hovered his fingers over them. "You're paraphrasing... And I... I didn't say anything about a full... moon..." His blue eyes closed and the boy sat frozen, jaw clenched, in silence for a long moment. The crash was sudden, but his rage had come in a flash burst of energy. Shattering to bits, the typewriter made an off key ding and splintered into sharp metal pieces as it hit the floor.
Remus was on his feet before the buttons even had time to settle. He grabbed his bag and stormed out the door. Why, if the choice was so obvious, was he so conflicted about this? If he refused to give up the seemingly precious sanguine fluid, the girl would suffer. If he accepted to let it happen and donate to her cure, he could hurt someone. What if he bit someone? Was that any sort of price to pay for someone's life? How would Remus live with himself either way?
As a strong objector to violent outbursts, Remus very much disapproved of his reaction to the miss-typed paper. There were far too many things going on in his head that were all too real for his gentle nature. He had spent so much time lately, believing his life was a classic novel, that when reality hit it was like a tsunami plunging down on him. Pacing the corridor in a vain attempt to rally his focus, a thought hit Remus. His secret was out, and not only were his mates so preoccupied with their lives that he couldn't talk with them about it; the most important person in his life was blissfully clueless of the monstrosity she locked lips with.
Taking the stairs two at a time, Remus hurried up to the common room. There she was, standing over a table of notes and things. Without delay, he was upon her, pulling her into a hug as tightly as he could. "Jules... I..." It seemed the words were impossible to speak. "I need to tell you something. I... I love you... And I need you. Possibly like no man has ever needed someone. But there is something I need to be honest about... And I'm... So sorry I didn't tell you sooner..."
