Sophia’s day began before the sun even rose. Her body automatically woke her at the same time every day, whether she needed to be awake or not. She tended to be a creature of habit. She strolled down the cold hardwood floors to her modestly sized kitchen then made herself a cup of tea and a biscuit. She ate her breakfast in silence as she stared out her window at the clear, albeit dark, morning. Sophia had a good feeling about that day. Then again, she had a good feeling about most days. She slipped into an outfit, semi-consciously of what she was putting on. She fed her cat before slipping on red flats and apparating to the front doors of Eelops Owl Emporium. It was still closed, naturally, but it was her job to open it. She was there more frequently than any other sales clerks, and most certainly more frequently than the owner. Sometimes she envisioned being able to take over the store, but then remembered that she had no intentions of staying there, no matter how sad that thought was to her.Sophia braced herself before she entered the room, for as she did she was met with the overwhelming noise of all the birds squawking at once, along with the noises some of the other creatures they carried. She hurried around to get everyone fed as quickly as possible in order to make their protests end before heading to the stool behind the counter and flopping down. Early mornings were the worst for her as she hated dealing with the noise. She then did the morning paperwork and dealt with dealing with the double counting the float in the register before she went over to the door and switching the sign from closed to open.It was only then she realized she was still wearing her coat, so she shed it and put it on the coat rack meant for employees behind the front counter. They only ever required one employee in months such as February, as there was much less students hanging about. It did happen, but more often now it was a more adult crowd. She didn’t care one way or the other the age of her customers. The sun had finally risen and was shining its first rays into the shops. Some of the owls decided it was now time for sleep now that the sun was up and hid their faces behind their wings.
